Meet Nacho Thorne | Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nacho Thorne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nacho, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career because I wanted to show people about the type of art and entertainment that I am into and to make my own type of art with my creativity. For me photography was a way that I can be creative and to show my creativity through the pictures that I take. Overall I felt that an artistic career was a way for me to get creative and that it would be best for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The art that I create is through photography, I show my art based on the pictures that I take and by seeing my pictures it’ll give people an idea on what I’m interested in. What sets me apart from others is that I never try to be like anyone else, my photography is based off my interests and when you see a picture that I took and edit you’ll know that I took that picture because I use my own creativity to it. I am most proud of my growth, looking back on my first pictures that I took and seeing my pictures now I can totally see the growth and improvements, so seeing the growth is what I am most proud of. How I got to where I am at today is just by getting a camera and just going out places, that is the only way to get started on your work and getting your name out there is by going out to different places. It wasn’t easy because when I first started I didn’t really know how to work a camera and I didn’t know too much because I never had photography experience before, but how I overcame that was having the support and the help from people who wanted me to keep going and they help me go out to places so that I could really get some experience. The lessons that I learned along the way is that you have to work to see growth and that it’s all a process, you won’t see the growth right away but the more and more you keep working that growth will show and that it is all little by little. You just have to be patient and keep working because each time you work you grow and that growth will add up. The other lesson I learned too is that not everyone will support you, people may say they do but then show that they don’t but just keep going because it doesn’t matter what they think what matters is that you believe in yourself and that you keep working hard. What I want people to know about my story is that I was only able to see growth because of putting in the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I would take them to Scottsdale because there is a lot of scenery there and it is one of the nicest places that I have been in Arizona and they also have one of the best malls in Arizona and overall Scottsdale is a nice place to be at and to go visit. After I would take them to the Tempe area because they also have nice scenery out there and Tempe Town Lake is a nice spot to go hangout and to also take pictures there too. The last spot I would take them is to Westgate because there is also a mall out there as well and it is a good spot to hangout at and a lot of things to do out there. These are the places in Arizona that I have been too that are really nice and would take a friend to if they never been in Arizona before.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For my story there are a group of people that I want to give a shoutout to for all of their love and support and that’s my family (parents, brothers, and cousins) and also want to give a shoutout to the frogs as well, the frogs are close friends of mine who have been there since the beginning of my journey and who are still supporting me and encouraging me to keep going. I’m also thankful for the person who said that they were happy for me that I am doing photography but then showed that they didn’t support by unfollowing my photography Instagram account a few months later. Overall I am thankful for the people who have been supporting me since day 1 and thankful for the people who don’t support. It all just motivates me to keep going and to keep on improving.
