Meet Jess Suworoff | Commercial Food Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Suworoff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jess, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Life is short, do what you love. After a loss of a young family member to cancer, I took some time to evaluate what made me happy in life and what I wanted to spend my time doing. Work is such a large part of my life, I know I wanted to enjoy going to work everyday. I am so thankful i’ve found what I love doing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a collaborative creative. I’m only as good as my photographer and art director. I strive to take an art director’s vision and present options and details to help flush out their vision. I’m honest, direct and aim to keep the clients needs in front of my mind.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Start your day off right with Phoenix best bagels from Copper Star Coffee (copperstarcoffee.com) then hang by the pool at Lylo Swim Club (www.riseuptownhotel.com/eat-drink/lylo-swim-club/). I love taking out of town friends to Persepshen for a killer dinner and cocktails (https://www.persepshenarizona.com/)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Mentorship can be life changing. I was lucky to have been introduced to Kim Krejca, a Phoenix Food Stylist for 20+ years, early on in my pursuit of food styling. Over the years, Kim has been an invaluable resource, sounding board and wealth of information.
