We asked some of the city’s leading artists and creatives to tell us about how they decided to pursue an artistic or creative career. We’ve shared some highlights below.

I decided to pursue an artistic or creative career because I didn’t see myself doing anything else. Dance was a calling; it gave me the nourishment I needed to sustain a holistic life. I feel that God blesses each of us with a gift and it if we don’t follow and relentlessly chase after it we suffer haha so without sounding horribly poetic, if I don’t pursue my creativity, insanity pursues me. I’ve always been a creative person. Ever since I can remember I was coloring, painting, singing, dancing, all of it. In the 6th grade, I discovered my love for photography – That’s when I decided I wanted to be a photographer when I grew up. In my case, I found my life’s passion pretty early, so it just made sense for me to pursue a creative career. I’ve worked almost every kind of photography job since I was 18. I was once a little girl who grew up imagining being a star one day. Theatre was the outlet that allowed me the opportunity to materialize my true passion, telling stories through acting and song. I think there are a lot of little kids out there who are inherently creative, but do not understand what it takes to do well in the industry. Read more>>

Howdy y’all! The name’s Kiddo… Kiddo SaVagee. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved the sound of Country and being from Wisconsin only made my love stronger! From Brooks & Dunn to Luke Combs, country has a special place in my soul. It speaks volumes to myself and my 2 young boys.
