We had the good fortune of connecting with Abbie Riffe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abbie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I view risk as moving forward without knowing the outcome. In my personal life and career, taking risks can be challenging. I prefer to not operate in the space of the unknown. However, a lot of what I do has required that of me. I try to embrace risks with the reassurance of knowing that you can always pivot if something doesn’t work. Putting something out there gives you the chance to receive feedback, make changes, and adapt to something that may work better. To me, that is a step closer to the goal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is interesting. I am a content creator myself and I also work professionally as an influencer marketing specialist where I am the middle man between brands and content creators daily.

They go hand in hand. I learn a lot about what performs well content wise through my profession, and I learn a lot about what to look for in an influencer from my personal content creation.

I would say the biggest factor to where I currently am is A LOT of trial and error. Both personally and professionally I have tried many different forms of content, I have held many different types of jobs within the marketing world, and I have consistently pivoted based on what I learn through each phase.

I have learned through challenges that there is never really a point of “failure”, just maybe a chance to adapt to what you learn or see from your efforts. The quickest way for me to overcome feeling challenged is to channel it into the next piece of content to create, how I can make it better, and what to do differently. This is all while accepting each step as part of the process and not being frustrated with myself when something doesn’t work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am not one for hanging out in the busy/city parts of town.

I recommend taking a scenic horseback ride (NOT in the summer!). There are even a few places where you may get to spot some wild horses.

The town of cave creek is quaint and beautiful, I love the vibe there and be sure to stop by the olive oil shop.

For food, my favorite Arizona restaurant is hands down Picazzo’s. They are an allergen friendly casual Italian restaurant.

My favorite place to grab a drink is the hotel bar at the Scottsdale Princess.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Many people have impacted me positively. I have been inspired by those who show the “real life” side of social media, a list of creatives to long to include, and supportive family and friends (you know who you are)!
