Meet Greg Corbett | Lifestyle Relocation Expert – Living in Phoenix Arizona

We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Corbett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Although I have spent the last 20 years of my life making a living through Real Estate, I have never truly felt comfortable being a “Realtor”. There has always been something about the title that just didn’t fit my personality. In my mind, being a Realtor was always about self-promotion and constantly having to ask people if they were interested in buying or selling a home. The industry is constantly training agents that it is a numbers game and that you should always be prospecting. Unfortunately, that type of thinking is the exact opposite of how I like to operate. Like many people, I am not a fan of someone who cold calls me or knocks on my door to find out if I am interested in buying (or using) their product/service. Especially in our current environment where we can search for anything we need online and have it immediately at our convenience. I am also not a fan of having to constantly ask my friends/family if they (or someone they know) are interested in buying/selling. The thought of those conversations is cringe-worthy to me. And then after all of that, the conventional wisdom is all about your “follow-up” process. If you are not trying to talk to someone at least 13+ times to get their business, you are not serious about your profession. That type of thinking was never going to work for me so I needed to try something different. And thankfully, being a content creator gave me a new way to provide value, build a sustainable business/brand, and ultimately find amazing people to work with, while not having to follow the path of the traditional agent.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The “Living in Phoenix Arizona” brand was created to be the ultimate online resource for any information that could be helpful for anyone looking to move or reside in the Phoenix Metro Area. Our goal is to provide an honest and real-life perspective on what it is truly like to live in Arizona. We cover topics like “Cost of Living”, “Pros and Cons”, “Best Places to Live”, “Reasons to Avoid Moving”, etc. These may sound like typical blog topics but we take it to a different level and shoot vlog style videos that will really show people what it is truly like to live in certain areas so they can get an honest perspective without being sold. Because of this, we can generate thousands of views every day/week of people who are looking to make a move to Arizona and give them valuable information that they won’t find anywhere else.
The blueprint for the “Living in…” brand has now been duplicated on YouTube thousands of times by other Real Estate Agents across the country, so there will always be challenges as we all try to set ourselves apart from similar channels. But those of us who always strive for better content and continue to provide the best value to viewers should have a successful path ahead when it comes to satisfied clients and consumers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tricky one to answer! What time of year is it? Are we planning for with/without kids? Is the goal to explore other parts of Arizona? What is the budget? Way too many factors to consider to simplify this question.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, I would not be on the path I am today without the inspiration, training, and guidance of Jackson Wilkey & Jesse Dau (co-creators of The Channel Junkies). I was lucky enough to see one of Jackson & Jesse’s early videos when they first started having success in Portland Oregon back in late 2019 and I instantly wanted to find a way to follow in their footsteps. I have not had anywhere near the same success that Jackson & Jesse have had and my three-year journey has had many challenges, but I am so thankful that I started when I did and will always be grateful to them for creating the original vision behind all this.
