Meet Farm Angels Sanctuary | Animal rescue service

We had the good fortune of connecting with Farm Angels Sanctuary and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Farm Angels, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Farm Angels Sanctuary, a rescue and sanctuary for farm animals, was started out of compassion for animals and morphed into a non-profit organization due to the need to help farm animals. The sanctuary started with rescuing horses, who were companion horses only, not serving a purposes to many and would otherwise be shipped off for slaughter. From here, many other farm animals have joined the sanctuary over the years including cows, pigs, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and guinea. There are now over 100 animals at the sanctuary.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The sanctuary is a forever home for all animals that are taken in. None of the animals are adopted out, sold, used for breeding purposes (all males are fixed), and all animals are friends, not food. The animals come to the sanctuary from a variety of situations including owner surrenders to law enforcement animal cruelty cases and everything in between.
The sanctuary is a safe haven for all animals that come in, respecting their individual needs, personalities, and health conditions.
The sanctuary owner, Lisa, does the sanctuary work as a passion. She additionally works a full-time job to fund the costs of the sanctuary. Donations only comprise of about one-eighth of the overall yearly expenses. There are no paid staff, only volunteers and Lisa.
The sanctuary has many ways in which people can become involved to support the farm angels.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Phoenix has many great vegan restaurants

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The sanctuary volunteers – the volunteers help with the daily chores at the sanctuary including feeding, watering, and yard clean up. Some of the volunteers also assist with both small and large projects as well as giving medical attention to those in need. The work of the sanctuary is very much supported by the work of the volunteers, and the sanctuary would not be able to operate without them.
