Meet Adam Bauer | Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Bauer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, how do you think about risk?
I took a job as an agent upon graduation of college, with no real background or experience. I worked on straight commission which was basically 15% of the agency portion of a commission. Every year since got better and as such I stuck with it. Risk has been a part of my professional life since I started.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the managing Partner at Madison House, a independent boutique booking agency. As a company we currently represent over 130 clients and I have had the honor of representing many of my current clients for decades. I got where I am today with an incredible work ethic, being a leader in good and bad times, taking responsibility and accountability for decisions I make, and looking out for not only my clients best interests but also my staff throughout my career. Often times I put their needs above all else.

Madison House is fiercely independent and has continued to book and manage clients for over 28 years. We have produced incredibly successful festivals around the country and worked in multiple genres of music.

Further I started a smoked meat BBQ joint called Speakeasy Meats in the pandemic that shipped meat across North America for over 3 years before needing to pause operations as I figure out next steps,

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Ann Arbor, MI a small college town that is a suburb of Detroit, we would of course check out live Music at one of the many local clubs or theaters, go to Knights Steakhouse for old school affordable meats and great cocktails, head into Detroit for great food, sporting events, head out to one of the 4 Great Lakes that border this wonderful state. Finally when we ran out of things to eventually do in Michigan the worlds best Airport, in Detroit is a virtually a direct flight to any major city in North America and around the world.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like recognize Nadia Prescher who is my business partner as well as Jesse Aratow – RIP both of whom put their faith in me to join them in this adventure at Madison House.

I would also like to recognize the people who helped me along the way getting me my start, or advice that helped my career and that includes Kell Houston, Pat Wilson, Craig Cooke, Mike Luba, and Jim Fleming.
