Meet Nazeer Jalal, MD | Physician & Metabolic Health Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nazeer Jalal, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nazeer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After nearly 2 decades as an internal medicine hospitalist—treating patients with complex, often life-threatening conditions, I started to feel the limits of reactive medicine. I was managing the consequences of metabolic disease every day—heart failure, strokes, advanced diabetes, but rarely had the chance to address the root cause. I wanted to shift toward something more preventative, more sustainable. That’s what led to Revive MD—a place where I could use my experience to focus on long-term health in a way that felt more personal and impactful. It was a leap, but it felt right.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Revive MD is a weight loss and metabolic health clinic built around the idea that real, lasting change comes from looking at the whole picture—your habits, from nutrition, consistency of movement, quality of sleep, managing stress, hormone optimization, and more. We don’t believe in quick fixes. Instead, we focus on sustainable strategies backed by science, whether that’s lifestyle coaching, personalized nutrition, or medications like GLP-1s when they make sense. What really sets us apart is how personal and thoughtful our care is. We don’t just hand out plans—we work with people, one-on-one, to figure out what actually fits their life.
What I’m most proud of is the way our patients feel heard and understood. So many of them have spent years being dismissed or blamed for their health struggles. At Revive, we approach it differently. We take the time to get to the root of what’s going on and walk alongside them as partners.
Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. Starting a business comes with a steep learning curve, and building trust in a crowded space—especially with big telehealth companies all over the place—has been a challenge. But I’ve stayed focused on the people we serve and the mission behind it all. That’s what keeps me going.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Revive MD, it’s that we’re here to help you take back control of your health—without judgment, pressure, or unrealistic promises. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about building something that actually lasts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for the week, I’d make sure they got the full Arizona experience—starting with early morning hikes. There’s something special about being on Camelback Mountain or out in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve as the sun starts to rise over the hills. The desert is quiet, golden, and absolutely stunning in those moments—it’s one of my favorite ways to start the day.
After the hike, we’d grab coffee at Press—great vibe, great coffee—and follow it up with brunch at OEB. Their menu’s creative and the food never disappoints. For dinner, we’d rotate between places like The Henry or Pomo, depending on the mood. Both have great ambiance and consistently good food.
At some point, we’d catch a Suns or Cardinals game—always a good time with a lively crowd. We’d also hit Postino for happy hour; it’s casual, easy, and always buzzing. One day we’d wander around Old Town Scottsdale, check out a few art galleries, and maybe end the night with drinks somewhere with a view.
I’d definitely want to squeeze in a quick trip to Sedona. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the state—unreal red rock scenery, peaceful hikes, and a kind of mystical energy that’s hard to explain but easy to feel.
And of course, some of the best moments would be the simple ones—hanging out in the backyard on peaceful Arizona evenings. We’d grill, play a game of catch, maybe hop in the pool, and just unwind.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Totally agree. My wife deserves the biggest shoutout. Her strength, resilience, and belief in me gave me the confidence to take risks I might not have otherwise taken. Watching the way she connects with people—genuinely and without judgment, taught me a lot about what real connection looks like, and that lesson has influenced how I approach and care for my patients.
I’m also incredibly grateful to the patients who’ve trusted me on their health journey. Their openness, vulnerability, and determination have not only inspired me but shaped the entire philosophy behind Revive MD.
