We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloey And Claudia Loman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloey and Claudia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Claudia: I have always known that I wanted to have my own business from a young age, driven by a desire for both creative freedom and the ability to build something that reflects my passions. I’ve always been drawn to creating products and experiences that bring people joy, and I wanted a platform where I could fully explore my ideas without limitations. My strong project management skills made me confident in my ability to take an idea from concept to execution while keeping everything organized and on track. I also wanted the challenge of wearing multiple hats, from marketing to operations, and the sense of fulfillment that comes from seeing my work make a tangible impact. Ultimately, starting my own business felt like the natural way to combine my skills, passions, and entrepreneurial spirit into something unique.

Chloey: Shortly before starting our business, I was going through a fixation on body care and body oils, and realized that a lot of oils on the market were either extremely expensive or had horrible ingredients and I figured I could probably create my own. Truthfully I always felt I would own a business but much further down the line in life, but after some pushes from astrologers I got started a bit earlier. After being in a business organization through high school, getting a business degree, and then going on to work with consulting many types of businesses it became a no-brainer. I see business as a vehicle for social change and felt I had found my opportunity.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are genuinely proud of our dedication to quality and more affordable pricing when so many companies will just sell you cheaply made products at an insane markup. Times are hard but we still believe that everybody and every body deserves products that nourish and help their bodies without harmful chemicals. Everything was researched and tested pretty heavily by us to make sure it was not only made with clean and good ingredients, but that it also felt incredible. Lastly we’re also set on making sure that this not only helps our customers, but can have an impact on communities and give back in some fashion- all without harming or exploiting animals as the cherry on top.

In college we both studied business and even competed in case competitions together, but the creation of Alchemy and our first body product was still a lot more involved and took much longer than either of us expected. Now we just take things day by day as we can and when we have time, and we try to be more realistic for when new products will be coming out.

Alchemy is about making changes in your day to day routine that improve your life, but we also want to help make changes for the better in our communities. Change is ultimately what pushes everything forward so why not try to make change for the better. As we say we want to help bring some magic to the mundane to bring some good energy to anyone who uses our products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When picking my best friend up from the airport, I would get them a floral bouquet from Baseline Flowers. This is my most favorite flower shop, because they have such a rich history, their arrangements are incredibly gorgeous, and the owner is a sweetheart. We would first have a lunch at the Churchill because they have options that everyone likes and it’s always my go to. Then the Botanical Gardens would be a must-see. When I first moved here I didn’t have any friends so I would always go to the gardens and admire all the beautiful plants and art installations. Then a dinner at Palma is a must! I love their food and drinks and it is always a good vibe. I would end the night at Bitter and Twisted. I love an espresso martini and they have the best selection of drinks! – Claudia

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While we wish we could call out individuals, as we started talking about this there were (fortunately) too many that we’d be afraid to leave anyone out. We have been blessed to have an extremely supportive community around us from friends, family, and teachers, to even people who were once strangers until they started showing their support. People have shown up to help out with events, shared our products with their circles, and just given more support than we ever expected and we couldn’t be more grateful!
