We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin, Princesita, Jaden Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, Princesita, Jaden, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Because we care so much about the world and our planet, we were very sad to see how much junk and trash we all consume. We wanted to make a difference, we wanted to make a change. We wanted to clean up our world one home at a time. And that’s how Pb&j junk removal was born! We recycle, and reuse as often as we can! Having a degree in Environmental Design with a focus in Sustainability, we have applied what was learned through out this journey of growing our business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When the pandemic began, like many others, we lost our jobs! Having some money put away in our savings, we decided to bet on ourselves and our dream of having our own business! We spent every last penny in our savings to launch our company. From buying a truck, a trailer and other safety equipment, we had what we needed to start our journey. Aside from doing junk removal work and appliance/furniture deliveries for regular people such as ourselves, we have worked with nonprofits and done work at retirement homes! We pride ourselves on being quick, efficient, friendly and affordable. We are a family business, that truly cares about people and the environment!

The team consists of three siblings
Justin (age 25)
Princesita (age 23)
Jaden (age 21)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From seeing how successful businesses are ran from a few of these companies, it really gave us hope to take a risk and start our own.

I would like to recognize “My Poodle Bears” which is a company that truly cares about the health of puppies and their well being, and it’s where I got my little poodle bear!

I would also like to recognize Keni Kandy which is a business that sells candy bouquets. Whenever I need to give a gift last minute, Keni Kandy always has my back.

A few other businesses that I admire and would like to recognize are Andre Demolition and Strong Junk Removal, which are both similar to the work that we do. They have showed us how a business like this should run.

Lastly I would like to point out a non profit called Mighty Making which is an organization we have been honored to do a few jobs for. They have showed us how to give back to the community.

All of these businesses are black owned, and all of these businesses believe in a similar goal like us. We all want to help people, give back, and put a smile on people’s faces.
