Meet Simone Colbert | RN

We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Colbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I initially was brainstorming ideas of how to make a side business to my full time job. Because who doesn’t love a little extra cash! I started thing what was something I could accomplish with my schedule and do well. I went with event game rentals because I noticed how many times I personally wanted games for my events but didn’t want to buy them just for the one time. I chose these games becausei saw how popular they were at restaurants, bars, or get togethers that I went to with friends at their houses.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an RN. I love my job and the ability to make an impact on someone’s life in whatever little way I can. Getting to this point was definitely not easy. You can ask anyone who has been through nursing school about that! But I did learn a thing or two about perseverance. I take those lessons and apply it to my business Untamed Games. Starting a business is daunting at first. Especially when you are trying to market yourself and get those first clients. I am so glad I have started on this journey and can not wait to see where it leads to. Ultimately I hope that with my business I am able to bring joy to my clients events or just let them have a fun day at the house with friends and family.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m such a foodie that I feel like half the time we would spend eating! I love saving new restaurant pages on Instagram and trying new places, especially from @letmeeatthis, she has the best suggestions. I recently tried The Mexicano & had the best time so we would definitely go there. But I would also squeeze in a day trip to sedona or the grand canyon. And go to downtown Phoenix for the nightlife.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my mom and boyfriend. When I first mentioned the idea to them they were supportive from the very beginning. Which is extremely important for anyone wanting to start their own business and may be unsure if its a good idea or not.
