We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Mavros and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassidy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Baystone Swimwear was the love for high quality swimsuits made ethically and sustainably. Our swimsuits are made from recycled ocean materials that not only look great but feel incredible. We source our swimsuits from factories that treat its employees far beyond minimum standards and use only the best practices to source its materials. Our mission was and is to provide a product that allows everyone to look and feel their best whether it be ocean or poolside.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Baystone Swimwear stands apart from the rest by its ability to combine ethical and sustainable practices with high quality minimalist swimwear. Our swimsuits are created with only the best materials sources from manufactures that exceed far beyond minimum business practice standards. Their high quality construction and minimalist classic designs makes them ultra comfortable and able to with stand years of wear…while never going out of style! Starting Baystone Swimwear was years in the making. There were many obstacles and challenges to overcome. While frustrating, it taught me a lot about how to slow down and learn not to rush the process. While you may want to rush to the end product you’ll skip the important steps and run into headaches that could of been avoided if you had just taken your time. Learn to trust yourself and step out of your comfort zone. It will take you farther than you thought.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My ideal weekend is a bit slower placed than normal, while still having a good time. One of my favorite things to do, which I do daily is walking, it’s so good for not only your physical health but mental health as well. I’d suggesting starting off with a hike at a trail with some incredible scenery. Followed by a good breakfast at a local cafe. I’d spend most of the day lounging poolside in Baystone Swimwear of course. Finishing off with dinner and drinks at a local waterfront bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank everyone who helped and supported this dream and company every step along the way.
