Meet Joachim Lehmann | Self tought photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joachim Lehmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joachim, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It started out as a hobby and I got better and better – I wanted to be able to offer my services to people, so they would participate on my passion. At first, I was a bit intimidated by red tape and tax formalities, but It went quite smoothly.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I am doing a wedding or other big events, I am all about the little things anyone else hardly notices. The moments that are gone in split seconds.
Like the two life-long friends cheering each other or the young girl watching from around the corner. I got to the point where I am today be practicing and trying new things – no skill is to be taken for granted, it needs constant training.
The most important lesson I have learned along the way is to turn down inquiries from time to time. If I can’t be 100% on board or I don’t feel confident with the customer, the job probably isn’t worth doing for me.
In my work I am very honest and passionate.
I don’t do huge manipulations in post-processing,
I try to get it right in the camera.
I want to stand 100% behind everything I put out there.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The nicest people and great food.
The food always gets good conversations started.
After that we will visit the Redrum Rockbar a couple of tram stops away.
Great music, great people and great drinks.
They serve a dark beer form Prague.
The next day we visit Partymonium – also in Cologne – a 80s Hair metal event.
One might say THE 80s hair metal event – people come from all over Europe and sometimes even beyond.
People get dressed specifically for that.
With wigs and leather dresses…you name it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Partymonium 80s Rock Party series – this is were it got serious for me. https://www.facebook.com/
