We had the good fortune of connecting with Laurie Peters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laurie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Moving back home to Lake Havasu from Los Angeles Ca was a big step in my career, I really wanted to be closer to family and friends but still continue to educate and help people feel their best. I decided I really wanted to focus on Bridal Makeup. I put myself out there did tons of makeup, took tons of pictures, met with new vendors and the rest is history.
I started out renting a little spot in a salon to co-owning my own salon. Its a place people can come to feel and look their best.i am absolutely obsessed with weddings and the whole wedding industry. Listening to a bride’s story, meeting their friends and family. learning all the sentimental values in their wedding is something I will always love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love making people feel their best. From moms who feel like they have lost theirselves, people who have scars or imperfections that really mess with their self confidence , to the girl who was never taught how to do makeup, girls that feel like they could never learn. not only do I do your makeup but I also take the time to give you a lesson. ill show you how to work with different products and different colors.

bridal makeup to me is enhancing your natural beauty. not to take away.. let your natural beauty still shine through but to have enough makeup on to show up nicely in pictures. you still want to look yourself, just a dolled up version

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
im not sure if this applies to me so ill tell alottle about myself

my name is Laurie Peters, I am a wife and a mom of 2 beautiful boys. i knew since I was young that I wanted to be a makeup artist. I never was the teen that didn’t know what direction I wanted to go in life. I moved to Los Angeles where I had some amazing opportunities in reality Tv, award shows, fashion shows, fashion campaigns , ad campaigns, and more.
My first interaction as a kid , with a professional makeup artist was a makeup artist from Titanic who did all the icicles in the water scene. from then on I was so interested in the special fx side of makeup. I still love that but really found my love in bridal, clean enhanced beauty.
in my free time I love hangin with my family

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to thank in my journey. My husband first and foremost, he’s my number one fan and always keeps me going. I am so thankful for all the people. The people who tell their friends about me, repost my work, who tag and like my photos. you can really support a small business without ever having to spend a penny.
