We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Ann Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel Ann, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Being a nurse gives me a lot of motivation to become in business, even when I was a kid my parents already thought me how to sell and hustle. I came from a very poor family in the Philippines, this gives me more drive to pursue my career and advance my degree in Nursing. Starting your own business is difficult, I thought at first it was a piece of cake and once you put everything together thats it. But i was wrong having your own business requires a lot of dedication and continues commitment.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started a business with partnership which didn’t end well, as what my mentor from my real estate business said “it will be really hard to find the same card in the business industry”. My advise is put everything in paper (including operating agreement, roles and responsibilities of each owner, compensation etc.) if you entering a partnership, I learned the hard way and this given me the opportunity to grow and overcome different challenges everyday.

I opened my own practice and continued to hustle everyday, I specialized in mobile iv infusion, HRT (testosterone replacement and bioidentical replacement therapy for women), and medical weight loss.

Having your own practice is not easy, since I am basically doing everything on my own. Sometimes I feel demotivated especially when I hear and get some negative information. When this time happens I pause and pray to God what is really my purpose and evaluate if this is really for me.

Being in a Critical Care for almost 12 years gives me drive to pursue this practice that focuses on wellness, I’ve seen how patients suffer from Heart attack, stroke due to obesity and helping my patients lose weight gives me satisfaction and help them lessen a possible comorbidity.

Doing a TRT (testosterone replacement therapy in men) is a big stigma in this society but listening to my patients made me realize that broken marriage can be fixed, depression in men can change to a more motivated and energized individual even on their old age.

Mobile IV Infusion therapy helped many patients boost their immunity by providing them high quality vitamins that goes directly to their system.

I am very fortunate to be able to help these patients bring back their own life and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I haven’t been to Arizona, I recently move from Kentucky to Las Vegas during pandemic and haven’t had a chance to stroll the neighboring states due to restrictions and having 2 kids. But I will be visiting my partner who lives in Scottsdale Arizona. In addition, we are helping also one business partner set-up her IV Infusion Clinic in San Tan Valley AZ and will be visiting her mobile clinic once everything is completed.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, I want to recognize my parents (Marina and Ronnie Garcia) and my aunt (Cora Desist) they helped me in to get where I am today. Secondly, my husband Enrico Tan, he was there during my tough times and supported me all the way. Third, Justin Allan, he was my mentor on starting this business as a Nurse Practitioner and really helped me a lot in terms of the details and how to create your own Niche NP practice. Fourth my partner, Jackie Pinlac who is also a Nurse Practitioner and have her own practice that focuses on Addiction Medicine.
