We had the good fortune of connecting with BRIAN PAONESSA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BRIAN, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Nurses outnumber the military three to one of the nation. As most responders besides teachers.

There’s over 4.2 million nurses in the nation. Over 30 million worldwide.

But for some reason we don’t have programs like credit unions or home buying centers or at times not recognized as a first responder (which include policemen, teachers, firefighters EMTs)

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a young boy, I was extremely passionate about sports, Baseball and Football. I enjoyed playing, but honestly, I fell in love with the training aspect for the sport especially football. I was all about pushing myself to the limits. I knew deep down inside NO ONE was training / preparing for the season like me. I was very motivated by the Rocky movies and put myself through some of the trainings similar to what actually happened in the movie. I cut down trees, push and pull my dad’s truck around the neighborhood, run hills pulling tires etc. Anything I could do to push myself to the extremes.

I worked at Walmart in high school/ college in the lawn and garden department. I would lift stone, bags of peatmoss, top spoil all day long. I would unload trucks and stack up the shopping carts that would line most of the parking lot. People would stand there and watch me push this huge row of carts in the store! After work I would Go eat, then go to the gym and lift weight for hours.

Long story short, I learned Discipline, dedication, and determination values at a young age. This really shaped my life and has transcended into my adult life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Las Vegas! Thats easy. There is so many things to do here. I have a pretty active lifestyle. Definitely hiking or gym, then go to the strip!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I have to give GOD the credit. Everything I have done is so far in creating FFN (Fit Functional Nurses) and now Nurses Of One, INC comes from trusting him, and believing in that he has something greater for me to accomplish here on earth. I wouldn’t have made it this far and accomplished the things I have, without surrendering to his will, and listening. The best part about what I am doing, that excites me the most is that “THERE IS NO ROAD MAP FOR ME.” I am doing something that is all in my brain, and most importantly my heart.

Secondly, I have to thank my family. My parents, sister, niece, brother-in law, aunts and uncles, cousins for their support. It starts with having a solid foundation, and belief in yourself.
