We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Herrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My photography business actually started organically. I have always been into photogrpahy. I was attending a Jeep event in 2012, and just shooting for my own personal use. It was after that, a lot of people including the event organizers noticed my work online. They invited me to shoot the event the next year. So 4low Photo was born from that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am very proud that the work I have done, has all come from a passion project. I was just shooting jeep and offroad events because I enjoyed it. My work was good enough to get me noticed. Since then, I have worked for many major product companies and shot all the major Jeep events in Florida for the event. I am self-taught, and just kept learning more, to take better photos

I got to where I am professionally in photography by working hard. Constantly striving to be better, and give a unique perspective to offroad motorsports.

It was easy to do what I love. It was a challenge to contend with others that saw what I was doing and tried to mimic it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I believe you are refereeing to Arizona, not Florida. All my Arizona knowledge is in Flagstaff. I really enjoy offroading with Side by SIdes in the morning, and cooling off at Slide rock in the afternoon.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife and 2 boys deserve credit for supporting me. Some times it was needed to work weekends, or travel accross the country to shoot.
