Meet Marcela Gonzalez | Landscape and adventure photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcela Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcela, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Surprises every day”. This has been my favorite quote of 2022 for many different reasons:

At the beginning of the year I went through a very hard time in my life and lost all motivation to work and travel. Every day I worked hard to get better and try to find something that would motivate me again. I realized that I didn’t need anything big, that every single day, in the small things, there were actually big things and changes going on…

The ‘capacity for delight’ is one of the most important things that we should try to keep, as we grow old we usually get used to ordinariness and every day life, we forget about the little details and things that can actually surprise us when we least expect it. Being open to ‘this’ has oppened many doors in my life this year and brought me back to traveling, getting inspired and exploring new places that had always been a dream to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a photographer, passionate about the outdoors, I spend most of my time hiking mountains and taking photos of my adventures, and travels.

After I finished university I was decided that I wanted to pursue my photography dream and travel as much as I could to see and experience the world, in all that the word means. I am passionate of knowing new cultures, and horizons.

As a photographer, I lead workshops around the world, sell books and prints of my images, and am always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to capture the infinite beauty of nature.

My camera is my constant companion as I travel the world, and I invite you to join me on this amazing journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am moving all the time, but writing this from Monterrey, Mexico right now makes me want to invite people to come and explore all the hidden gems that this city in the north of Mexico has to offer. Given the city itself is in a valley surrounded by mountains, there is so many natural wonders to go hiking, biking, kayaking, canyoneering, camping, and so much more.

Also, Monterrey has great food and restaurants you can visit!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to do thank my parents, who have always encouraged me to follow my dreams and passions.
