We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Katelyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose to pursue an artistic and creative career because it lights a fire in my soul. Creating works of art is what I was born to do and being able to create unique and custom pieces for each and everyone of my clients gives my life purpose. From every image that I create to the albums and wall art that I design, I am providing families with quality and deeply sentimental heirlooms that can be cherished and passed down for generations.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Motherhood by Christina Katelyn Photography (Motherhood) is an all inclusive photography service meaning, that not only will I help you create and carry out the portrait session your dreams, I will also create a finished product for you in the form of albums and wall art. I will help you decide how these images should be displayed in your home, office, where ever, by offering high quality, professional print service.

Getting to this point in my business where I had a clear vision of what I want Motherhood to represent was not easy. In today’s culture, so many people want everything fast and digital. Which I understand, being able to have the “perfect” social media post is a big deal in our society. But, I want to remind people of why they get these images done. It’s because you want to preserve a season in life that you know will pass all too soon. You value the time and blessings you have in your life and want to invest in having that memory for a lifetime. As some one who has lost so many digital images, I understand the importance of having tangible and physical pieces of the things I hold most dear.

While I specialize in maternity and newborn photography, I also offer milestone (any important events like a first birthday, graduation, etc.) and seasonal family sessions as well!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many fun and unique places to visit in the West Valley. One of my family’s favorite things in summer is to visit Lake Pleasant! It’s fun to go out on the boat and soak up the sun and maybe even try some water sports like tubing, wake boarding, etc. whether you own a boat, rent a boat, or know someone with a boat, it is so much fun!!

My favorite place to dine is at The Vic in Verrado. Their food is farm to table fresh and always hits the spot. They also have an incredible view of the Valley.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am thankful for my friends and family who have supported me in this business journey, especially my husband, Garrett.
