We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Linck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My intention from the very beginning has always been to empower people, but it’s very important to have the freedom to create something on my own terms. I come from a very structured background as a military officer, so being able to break out of following someone else’s vision to realizing my own is something I’m drawn to.

What should our readers know about your business?
ConFITence Training & Wellness Studio approaches fitness with as much self-care and encouragement as possible. In 2020, before the pandemic, I made the life-changing decision to quit drinking. What I discovered in the process of re-inventing myself was how successfully I hid a problematic relationship with alcohol, diet, and body image behind fitness. In the years that followed, I started noticing how permissive the fitness industry is in keeping us stuck in the damaging cycles of not feeling worthy, reaching for extremes, and escaping.

ConFITence is an option for people who are making the brave decision to opt out of diet culture, toxic fitness, or alcohol as self-care. We embrace healthy, sustainable lifestyles that include feel good movement practices, non-restrictive nutrition strategies, and non-alcoholic options for celebration and socialization.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Monday- I would take them to Mill Race Village to see the studio, after we would stop by Colonial Cafe for a Lavender Truffle latte. I would show them the artisan shoppes in the village and we would head to Donkey’s Downtown for a chicken cheese steak- a local special.

Tuesday- I would take them to the main streets of neighboring towns Moorestown and Medford. I would take them to Carnival Cupcake to see the local cupcakery feature on Food Network and then we would get lunch. From there, we would head to the ARTery in Medford to do one of the canvas painting classes.

Wednesday- We would plan a trip to where I’m from on Long Beach Island, NJ where we would get a long walk on the beach along the Atlantic Ocean. I would take them to Harvey Cedar’s Shellfish Co, and take a tour up the Barnegat Lighthouse.

Thursday- We would definitely head back to ConFITence Thursday night to catch the Restorative Yoga class given by Beyond Relief Yoga, a local instructor I work with to bring yoga practice to the studio.

Friday- We would head into Philadelphia and spend the day exploring old city, city line, and then head into Manayunk to Volstead, the vegan restaurant and non-alcoholic bar featuring zero-proof cocktails.

Saturday- We would leave early to take the train into NYC and do the 9/11 memorial tour, catch a matinee on Broadway, and then grab a drink at the zero-proof bar Hekate in East Village. We would spend the night in the city.

Sunday- I would take them to get a Porkroll, egg, and cheese on a hard roll, before saying goodbye!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
