Meet Megan Garza | Lifestyle Photographer & Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Garza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I believe when it comes to starting your own business the hardest part is acting starting it and doing the darn thing. Just like with everything when you first start something new and challenging being intimidated can steer you off track and be discouraging. I think it’s important to have the mindset of channeling those nerves and use them to proceed in your business. Once you are able to do that I believe everything falls into place. The first year of business should be looked as a learn curve and getting a familiarity to what works for your business and what doesn’t.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a photographer and I like to describe my work as moody and natural light. I shoot from portraits all the way to commercial. My speciality is in families and events. My photography can be seen as sun chasing and moody. I like to take my photography an extra step when it comes to capturing natural emotion and timeless moments.
I am proud to say as the years go by I am able to keep pushing my art the extra mile and see the growth. I have been able to start from just taking photos and starting dabble in the art of videography. I am excited to be traveling more for weddings/elopements.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t continue to just keep shooting. Taking pictures of anything and everything really led me to where I am today professionally. Getting to where I am today has had both challenges and easier milestones. With those challenges I learned to use them to my benefit and try to learn best as I could from them and think how not to run into that challenge again. One of the biggest challenges I have learned early on was not to compare yourself to others, but to be inspired. Having that mentality really helped me to create art without boundaries.
If I could let others know about my brand is that I hope to leave a positive impression and let you realize how great YOU are and you deserve to feel good!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes down to my accomplishments and success, I wouldn’t be able to have a successful business without the ongoing support from my husband and daughter, as well as my clients. My husband is my number one go to guy whenever I need assistance with anything from finances to handy stuff; like setting up a backdrop. I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have him to join me on my small business journey. A huge shoutout to my clients that have had me taking timeless moments for them over the years, as well as my newer clients. Thanks for trusting the process and I am so honored to be apart of those memories you create with your loved ones!
