We had the good fortune of connecting with Dylan Dunham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dylan, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I created my company with the vision of giving to the community I live in. Creating jobs, fundraisers, and donation opportunities throughout my community. Growing up I saw many hardships and struggles. First, was my community struggling to provide opportunities to my city. Secondly, I noticed the work environments provided were very unhealthy and demeaning. I look to offer better employment and opportunities for my employees and community by training my employees to put the customers first so I can put my employees first. Owning a business is like running a machine with many parts relying on the previous part. Setting a basic foundation creates ways for the company to provide better customer service and help me provide the community with help and opportunities to better our city.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
AZ Pro Hardscapes LLC is a company I have always wanted. We focus on our customers wants and needs and providing them with the yard they have envisioned for their homes and businesses. We pride ourselves on being very involved with our community and donating where we are able to. Currently we are working with the Yavapai Humane Society to create a memorial park for one of their employees who has passed. In the workings of this project we have taken steps to proceed with a fundraising event for them that we hope carries on for years to come. Much like other small businesses we are like a tight knit family, we have quarrels, we laugh, we smile, we communicate and solve problems, and we work hard to provide a great experience and great customer service for our customers. It brings joy to me to see my employees and customers happy to work for us and work with us. The road was rough as we proceeded forward to create the company and us being in the first year it continues to be rough. But I was once told to take life one day at a time, crossing bridges as I come to them. I have faith in myself, my business partner, and my employees that we will get through whatever troubles come our way. Without them I would not have a company, I have managed many businesses where employees were not treated well and that ultimately lead to their demise. I bring forward knowledge from business degrees, accounting degrees, marketing degrees, and management experience to the table to put together a great business that can power through the road blocks that life has in store for us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me my favorite spot is with family, friends, and my dogs. Whether it be at the park, at work, or at home lounging around. My employees are my family and so are my friends, spending time with them brings joy and happiness to my life and we make the best out of wherever we may be. I found gratitude in the small things after losing my vision to Type-1 Diabetes for 5 months. Wherever I may be is my favorite spot as long as I have someone to share the experience with.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off I would like to thank the community of the Prescott Quad-Cities area. I would also like to thank the City of Prescott Valley and the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce for welcoming us to the community with open arms and helping us lead to success. Also, to my family and friends who believed in me and would not let me give up. Finally, to our customers and organizations that gave us the pleasure of working with them to create a yard they have always envisioned for their homes and businesses. We look forward to many more years of business thanks to this AMAZING Community!
