We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The inspiration for our organization stemmed from the belief that individuals, particularly boys and men, who have positive role models and mentors are more likely to navigate life’s challenges successfully. There is a profound impact that positive mentorship can have on character development, self-esteem, and the overall well-being of individuals. I recognized the potential for creating a ripple effect, where empowered and inspired individuals go on to make meaningful contributions to society.

Faith serves as the cornerstone of our organization, guiding our values and principles. We believe that by instilling strong moral and ethical foundations, we not only equip our mentees with the tools to overcome obstacles but also inspire them to become compassionate and responsible leaders in their communities.

The decision to start this nonprofit was also influenced by a realization of the unique challenges faced by boys and men in our society. By providing tailored mentorship programs, we aim to address specific needs, fostering personal growth, and encouraging a sense of purpose. Our commitment is to create a supportive community that transcends socio-economic, racial, and cultural boundaries, uniting individuals under a shared vision of positive transformation.

In essence, the thought process behind starting this business was driven by a passion for making a lasting impact on the lives of boys and men, understanding the pivotal role mentorship plays in personal development, and recognizing the power of faith in guiding individuals toward a brighter and more purposeful future. Our journey is one of dedication to building a community where positive influence and mentorship lead to a collective force for good, shaping the future leaders who will make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our organization is built on the firm belief in the power of positive role models. I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that mentorship and guidance can have on the lives of young men. It’s a belief that has been the driving force behind our mission to fill the void of leadership, collaboration, and positive male role models in the community. My heart breaks for the gaps I’ve seen, and it fuels my determination to be part of the solution.

The path to where we are today has been a combination of God’s grace and determination to be the change I wanted to see. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has been a stepping stone towards growth and positive impact. It’s been a journey that has shaped not only the success of the business but also my personal growth as a man, husband, and father.

Life’s challenges have a unique way of revealing the strength and resilience within us. Through adversity, I’ve learned to dig deep and bring out my best to overcome obstacles. It’s a testament to the fact that sometimes we don’t fully recognize the potential within us until we’re faced with the need to rise above challenges.

What I want the world to know about our brand and story is that every young man has a destiny and the potential for greatness. Our outcomes are shaped by the choices we make. I encourage everyone to choose growth, to overcome the obstacles of their destiny by learning new skills, building a strong network of like-minded individuals, and actively working to make a difference in the areas that need change.

Nothing changes if nothing changes, drop old habits, pick up new disciplines, and watch your life transform. This is the essence of our mission – empowering young men to make positive choices, build a supportive network, and realize their full potential for greatness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend was here for a week, I’d want to introduce them to some of the best people and place in Tucson. First, we’d hike up Mt. Lemmon in the morning. The views are beautiful!

Now, let’s talk food. Frankie’s Cheesesteaks – their cheesesteak with whiz, mushrooms, and onions is a must-try. We’d hit up the Taco Stop food Truck for some awesome tacos and quesadillas. And trust me, we can’t skip The Screamery for the best ice cream in town.

We’d hang out at Connections that Count – it’s where you meet awesome people in Tucson. It’s the heart of the community, and you always leave with new friends.

Throughout the week, we’d mix it up – hit some coffee shops like Black Crown Coffee, BBQ spots like Dre’s Seafood & BBQ or Mr. K’s Original BBQ, maybe catch a live performance at Brother John’s Beer Bourbon & BBQ or Hush Social Club. And, of course, we can’t forget about the spiritual side. We’d have to visit Siloam Christian Church or Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church for a time of worship, an encouraging word, and an unforgettable atmosphere of fellowship.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wife, whose constant love, support, and encouragement have been the driving force behind my perseverance. Her belief in me, even during challenging times, has been a source of strength that fuels my determination to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I am blessed to have her by my side on this journey.

A special shoutout goes to my father, whose unwavering commitment to instilling biblical principles in me has been the bedrock of my values and guiding light throughout my life. His wisdom and guidance have shaped the person I am today, and I am immensely thankful for the strong moral foundation he laid.

I would also like to acknowledge my co-founder, David Kamara. Together, we have embarked on a shared vision, and his dedication and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in turning that vision into a reality. His passion for our mission and his tireless efforts in building with me have been invaluable, and I am grateful for the partnership we share.

Lastly, a shoutout to Larry Starks, President of the Tucson Juneteenth Festival Committee. Larry has been a shining example of manhood and servant leadership. His commitment to community service and the embodiment of positive values have served as a source of inspiration. Larry’s leadership style exemplifies the impact one can have by uplifting and serving others, and I am privileged to have crossed paths with such a remarkable brother.

To each of these individuals, groups, and influences, I extend my deepest appreciation. Their contributions have been integral in shaping the narrative of my journey, and I am truly thankful for the positive impact they have had on my life and the work we do together.
