We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
One of the hardest parts of being a full-time content creator is dealing with the ups and downs. When you’re up – content you create is being well-received, you’ve got plenty of opportunities, and you feel great about what you put out into the world – being a content creator is an absolute dream job that you couldn’t imagine replacing. But when you’re down – content isn’t being seen as much as you think it deserves, there aren’t as many available opportunities, and you’re maybe experiencing imposter syndrome – the question of whether you keep going or give up can appear.

I’ve had it happen. It’s common! When the feeling hits, I always ask myself, “why did I start doing this in the first place?” What’s my why? Is that reason still important? Is it still enough of a motivator? I always answer those questions honestly, and to this day my why is still important and enough of a motivator for me to press on. But I know that if I ever lose that why and it stops being important to me, it’ll be time to reevaluate.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a variety content creator – meaning I don’t stick to only one type of content. I livestream playing video games, cooking, and more. I create YouTube videos where I discuss real-life topics, review new games and products, and more. I cosplay my favorite characters from multiple forms of media. I am truly a creative. I like to say that I do the things Little Alex could only dream of. All the things I loved growing up – cartoons, funny videos, video games, food, etc. – I get to do them and create things surrounding them every day now.

I started my journey as a content creator because I wanted to share the things I love with other people and form connections with people whop have the same interests as me. It wasn’t an easy process by any means! From being nervous on-camera in the beginning, to struggling to build my own audience, it has not been an easy road to get where I am. It’s been a lot of studying how others I look up to have gotten to where they are, a lot of late nights editing and creating, and remembering to take care of myself.

If I’ve learned anything from this journey so far, it’s that you absolutely need to do what you enjoy and put your own personality in it. It’s so easy to simply follow what others are doing. But we’re all unique human beings! It’s been a process learning how to create things that represent me, my interests, and what makes me unique. It’s worth it to get to know yourself to be able to put a bit of your unique personality into your craft. My brand is me and I am my brand. My story is still writing itself and my content evolves right along with it. But at the base of it, I (and my content by extension) am a wild gal who loves video games, food, and community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This’ll sound so out of left field…but all you can eat sushi! I discovered it in Phoenix and have loved it ever since. The city has multiple all you can eat sushi spots and I cannot recommend it enough when you’re visiting. One of my favorite things to do when I visit is to visit the Hyatt Gainey Ranch bar and have a drink at sunset outside. It’s gorgeous and you can feel a bit of luxury in your life. I’m also a fan of the Japanese Friendship Garden. I really enjoy being outside and enjoying the peace that the outdoors can bring me. This is a perfect way to do that. Finally, I like visiting Old Town Scottsdale! It has everything you want for a day out – shopping, bars and restaurants. The perfect trifecta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are a few people I want to dedicate this shoutout to! First and foremost, I want to shoutout my community – the Penguin Village. They’ve been with me through my ups and downs, content changes, and the entire process of finding out who I am and who I want to present to the world. They’ve never stopped being supportive and they’re even hands on in some events and content I create! I couldn’t be where I am without them. They’re truly my rock.

I’d also love to shoutout JaharaJayde. We started streaming around the same time and we’ve grown together. She’s one of my best friends and is so much fun to talk to – whether we’re complaining about burnout or celebrating our successes with each other. She’s the kind of friend who can inspire me and also call me out when I’m lagging on things I said I’d do. She’s wonderful and I couldn’t ask for more!

Finally, I’d like to shoutout my partner. He’s, of course, the love of my life and with that comes love, joy, and a heaping dose of emotional support. But, he’s also what I call my MANager. He keeps me on track with my content creation business, he takes my cosplay photos, and he’s my sounding board for ideas. It’s hard to do this alone and I’m so grateful he’s with me on this.
