We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandria Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandria, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have been freelance modeling for over three years now, and within that time, my work life balance has never stopped fluctuating. When I began my career I wasn’t sure of what I was doing or how I wanted to pursue things, so I took things quite slow and always stayed open minded to new experiences. As time went on and my confidence blossomed, I started to say yes to any opportunity in order to learn as much as possible and try new things. I have recently reached a point that I realized how comfortable and confident I am in the modeling I do, I stopped stretching myself so thin and became more thoughtful of projects I agree to. I now have more time for a healthy social life, family time, and self care alongside my modeling career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What has really set me apart from other models is I have been doing hair modeling for a large portion of my career. Thanks to Alyssa Mikayla at Phan Haus in Scottsdale, Arizona, I have become known in my community for my colorful and ever changing hair. Another aspect of my career that sets me apart and that I really love, is doing creative direction for my own photoshoots. I love doing projects that are outside of the norm, that show my artistic strengths and interests. I enjoy walking in fashion shows, working with brands, and other creatives in my industry to show a range of modeling skills. Along the way I have learned to stick with doing such different and authentic things because it is apart of what makes me stand out as a model. I am passionate about what I do!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As someone born and raised in the general Phoenix area, I have recently found that I enjoy quiet time away from the city. A trip to to Flagstaff in Northern Arizona is always great during the winter. During the summer is the perfect time to visit Sedona for a hike. If I’m in the city, Scottsdale is the perfect area for dinner and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my friends and family that have been consistently supporting me since the beginning of my journey. My mom, brother, and step dad have been cheering me on since day one. Without the love and encouragement of my loved ones, I would have struggled so much more while building in my career. I will forever be grateful and cherish their support!
