We had the good fortune of connecting with Alina Dolmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’m motivated by the moment; spontaneity is what drives most of my decisions. I’ve been through the dead end jobs and even worked my way through a technical career but I felt unfulfilled and it usually left me miserable after work. My last career proved it wasn’t providing during a recession or epidemic. I just felt the urge to show my skills in a different way and cosmetology was that path for me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love that my talents in cosmetology translate into a passionate expression for my clients. Whether it’s their nails or hair, I get to turn their beauty image into reality. Financially, it has been hard but I’d rather be happy and fed than rich and hate my life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Doc and Eddy’s has a great vibe when there’s no game on. The Grid is one of my all time favorite places to spend a night out at. When I can in the winter, I love going up to Camelback mountain to hike the trails.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Madeline, deserves a huge part of credit. She not only has been supportive but also the inspiration to take this leap in career. My in laws have also been loving and supportive of it.
