Hi Amanda Bisack, how does your business help the community?
My business , “Travelista Travels” is a luxury travel agency that curates itineraries for travel all over the world. By helping our clients see the world we are helping them open their eyes to become a more well-rounded person. Traveling the world allows our clients to create the most amazing memories that are sure to last a lifetime. Meeting people from other states and cultures can give you a greater perspective of life. Lastly, seeing the world provides an education that’s absolutely impossible get in school.

Besides helping our clients see the world our business also helps grow tourism all over the globe!

What should our readers know about your business?
I believe some of the things that sets myself and my company apart are several characteristics. First being that I am very persistent. After dealing with Covid in 2020 I learned all about persistence! As a small business owner, persistence has helped me get through any problems and even come out more determined than before. I also approach each work day with a positive attitude and approachable personality which I believe makes it easier for my employees, other professionals and my clients to be open with me and to help relieve a stressed client or employee when something goes wrong. And above all, I lead my team and run the company with extreme passion. I think of this business as my baby. I know my employees and customers are able to see the passion I have for Travel and for planning trips! This passion helps excite new employees and gain the confidence of a potential client.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Port Jefferson (my home town) is one of Long Island’s hidden treasure and is located 50 miles east of New York City, combining beauty and history with its picturesque water views and a rich maritime heritage.

Port Jefferson Harbor is one of the north shore’s top destinations for boaters in the northeast and one of Long Island’s two ports for access from Connecticut. The calm waters of the harbor along with a deep draft, provides transient boaters with easy access to many unique shops, specialty restaurants and year-round cultural activities, all within a short walk from the marina docks.

There is SO much to do, including our magnificent Harborfront Park and Port Jefferson Village Center, a focal point for many educational and social activities, including historic exhibits, and outdoor movies and concerts. Nearby, the Long Island Explorium is a wonderful place of discovery and learning for the entire family. Visitors can also recapture history in the Bayles Boat Shop where you can learn about the building and restoration of wooden boats.

Port Jefferson is also home to live theatre year round and enjoy the Mather Museum complex seasonally. The Village hosts many exciting and annual events, including our renowned 4th of July Parade. The Boater’s Maritime Festival, Harvest Fest, Farmer’s Market and our internationally recognized Charles Dickens Festival.

My Dad , John Bisack has been a big motivation to me in being an entrepreneur and working my butt off to grow a successful business. As Founder of PIP, my Dad is responsible for guiding the firm’s growth while nurturing relationships with its Private Equity and Portfolio Company clients. He is a strategic growth partner in technology-driven value creation and an active advisor in risk mitigation. After founding the firm in 2003, my Dad built a company and reputation based on honesty and kindness, which is steeped in the firm’s culture today as it’s recognized as a proven, pragmatic, and results-driven technology partner by its roster of over 250 Private Equity clients. He also earned his BS in Finance, Economics and Computer Science, and an MBA in Finance and Economics from Hofstra University, which is the same University that I went to.
