We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Goetz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I saw a need in 2020 to make a dramatic switch to what I offer to my clients and prospective clients. Prior to that, I had always marketed myself as a web development company. In 2020 I realized so many folks needed help jumping from a home-built site to offering their services digitally and leveling up their already existing digital presence. Most business owners don’t have those skills and can only get so far on their own. Now one of the main services I provide is assisting clients clarify their overall brand, align that clarity to their website, social media and help them to create digital courses, sell their products or service online and empower them to be able to run their website and make these changes on their own if they choose to!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been coding websites since 1997 when it was just that. Simple code. I’ve seen all the trends, the drag-and-drop builders, and sneaky google tricks literally since the beginning. I love geeking out and truly trying to figure out the algorithm or just observing website visitors via heatmap. I’ll never stop learning and leaning on others to grow my professional services so I can in turn help others.

Along the way, I’ve had to learn to pull way back on how I present what I can do for others as far as how I talk about my services goes. Marketing, development, and SEO can get way convoluted and go right over people’s heads if you get me going. My shop talk has become much more generalized with a few puns thrown in to help people relate to what I do. I’ve also learned the power of delegation! Being a control freak and wanting to create and control every piece of a project I’m working on can really hold me back. I’ve luckily found some great developers that I can lean on to help me turn out quality work for my clients.

My focus with every client is to give them the ability to truly measure their marketing efforts, make informed decisions about where to spend their budgets, and take action. When a client works with me they have a better understanding of how the puzzle all comes together. Not only do I make them go through their analytics after 30 days but I encourage them to regularly check in on their inbound traffic, review the demographic and see where eyes are falling off on their marketing efforts. This really helps them to stay ahead of the competition and focused on giving their audience what they want.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well this is tricky. I’m an Arizona girl at heart, left at age 17. Bounced around a bit through college in Southern California, then back AZ to have my daughter. Now I reside in Southern Utah which is amazing. So if someone were visiting me here I’d tell them to hop in my RZR and take them to the sand dunes.

If we were in Arizona, we’d for sure take out the boat on the lake for some sunset wake surfing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Alex Urbie of The Arena. This is a paid business coaching group that I continually learn a ton. I love this guy because he’s unconventional, real, and gives way more than he promises! I hope to get to a place where I can do the same.
