We had the good fortune of connecting with Amethyst and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amethyst, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Life has this funny way of pushing you in unexpected directions. It started with this mom-life realization—I wanted to be there for my husband and kids, AND have a little hustle. Flexibility was key. I landed a social media manager gig, and I was like, “Hey, I kinda love this!”. In my teenage years, I was all about graphic design and creative stuff, and here I was, coming full circle. Honestly, my husband is the one who really helped me take the leap into entrepreneurship. Many times. he had suggested that I branch out and start my own business as a social media manager. One day, during a serious brainstorming sesh he asked, “Why not?” and I didn’t have a non-fear-based answer for that.
Really, what’s the worst that could happen?
Turns out, not much. So, here I am, riding the entrepreneurial rollercoaster, making things happen.
No matter where this journey takes me, it’s been and continues to be one fulfilling adventure. Life’s too short not to take a chance.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Heart N’ Social Marketing. At the core, we’re all about lending a helping hand to small businesses in the digital realm. We specialize in two key areas: First up, batch content creation. For small business owners who crave custom content but don’t have the DIY time or know-how, we’ve got their back.
Then there’s social media management, our forte. Perfect for those who get the importance of an online presence but need someone else to steer that ship.
The journey here took a lot of courage, but here’s the scoop—I’m driven by a genuine desire to see others thrive in their passions.
Lesson learned? Authenticity is my “secret” sauce. I’ve learned to focus on the quality of my work first and foremost; the right clients find their way to me. Word of mouth has been my best advocate.
In a nutshell, Heart N’ Social Marketing is more than a service—it’s a commitment to your digital success. No fluff, just a genuine passion for helping your business beat stronger online.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever my family from Colorado comes to visit, it’s our cue to hit the road and explore the beauty of Northern Arizona. One essential stop is always at my favorite local spot, Modern Coffee & Deli. The coffee is a game-changer, and the quick bites are delicious. The vibe inside is unmatched, making it a perfect kick-off for our adventures.
Sedona is a magnetic pull for us. The landscape is breathtaking, and we can’t resist driving around, soaking in the sights, and losing ourselves in the charming shops. A must-visit is Red Rock Apothecary—the scents are beyond words. I’ve got to admit; my wallet willingly takes a hit there.
Jerome, with its quirky charm, has become a favorite of mine. The Haunted Hamburger is a non-negotiable stop.
Jerome is also home to Wicked City Pub; a small place, with big energy, and they had this Mead on tap that was dangerously good.
Prescott, with its stunning rock formations at Watson Lake, is always on our list. It’s the perfect spot for a scenic drive and a little nature appreciation.
Heading south to Dewey, Leff-T’s Steak House & Grill is a steak lover’s dream. Their steaks? Unbelievably tender. And don’t forget to add the garlic butter—it’s a game-changer.
As the night falls, don’t forget to look up. The low light pollution in this part of Arizona turns the night sky into a breathtaking canvas. It’s a perfect way to wrap up a day filled with exploration, good eats, and the beauty of Northern AZ.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout-out, hands down, goes to my husband! For a whole decade, he’s been the MVP of my cheering squad, pushing me to just do the damn thing. In moments of doubt, he’s my voice of reason, and when it comes to taking risks (which, let’s be real, isn’t my default setting), he’s the fearless encourager. Here’s to the man who’s made my successes sweeter and my challenges conquerable. 🥂
Here’s to a decade of shared dreams, unstoppable support, and endless encouragement.
