We had the good fortune of connecting with Amin Darabi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amin, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Currently as a freelancer, I would like to be a part of a proffessional team in order to delvelope my skills and abilities and help the team to succed in the bussiness. But my goal is that to be on of the most famous character designers visual developers.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As you are well aware, in our country, Iran, the resources, proffesors and opportunities are very limited. On the other hand, due to the sanctions, It was impossible to attend in the international courses, so I could only count on my intelligence and heart’s desire and I proud to announce that I learned by myself. Also the availabel resources was not in my mother tongue, so it was really difficult, I have did it by diligence. At the moment, I am trying to continue my education in MSC of studio art at unversity of Arizona.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have some of the nicest beaches in north of Iran, we’d start there; lunch with a beach view. We have nice restaurants and a lively down town, so we would do a bit of shopping and then eat at a nice traditional place with a live music. I’d take her/him to opera. We have Damavand Mountain, and Eram Park that has great museums inside. We would go see a movie at one of the dinner and a movie fancy theaters too. I’m a good “take you around town friend”.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
At this point in my life and career there are so many people that have made an impact. I would say my best friend/colleague, Ghazaleh Barootian. She always encourage and support me with her fantanstic ideas!
