Meet Andrea & Antoniy McGowan | Salsa manufacturer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea & Antoniy McGowan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea & Antoniy, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson that our business is taught us, is that in order to grow a small business you need to be able to build successful systems. learn to use leverage. And grow a team.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mouth of the South Salsa is more than a condiment – it’s a flavorful experience in every jar, a blend of tradition, local charm, and the freshest ingredients. From our vibrant logo to catchy slogans, we infuse fun into every aspect of our brand, creating a unique connection with our community in Southern Arizona.
What sets us apart is not just the mouthful of flavor you get, but the lively encounter you have at any market or restaurant featuring our salsa. Our commitment to freshness and quality shines through, making us a staple in local spots across Southern Arizona, including Tucson, Sonoya, and Sierra Vista.
Our pride stems from the widespread recognition we’ve garnered over the past 9 years. From iconic street fairs like the 4th Ave. Street Fair to local markets and delis, we’ve cultivated a devoted following through word-of-mouth marketing. The heartbeat of our success lies in the support of our local community.
The excitement builds as we explore growth opportunities beyond our Arizona roots, eyeing expansion statewide and nationwide. What started as a homemade salsa for friends and family, based on an old family recipe, evolved into a bold entrepreneurial leap. Leaving behind decade-long careers, we embraced the salsa dream and discovered an entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of another business in finance.
While the journey wasn’t without challenges, from navigating health department permits to finding a local kitchen, networking with fellow business owners and mentors provided invaluable guidance. Pivoting when needed has been our key to overcoming obstacles, never tethered to a single system or idea.
What we want the world to know about Mouth of the South Salsa is that it’s a fusion of authentic flavors, both in our ownership journey and the products we offer. If you crave genuine taste and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit, Mouth of the South is the destination to savor.
