Meet Andres Cano | Founder & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andres Cano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andres, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Andres Candough DoughVine Bread started from a gifted starter to a small business. Our journey started in June of 2024 from a gifted starter from a good friend. We began baking for ourselves and friends. We began falling in love with sharing and breaking bread with others and building community. We gifted our bread to friends and family who had great feedback. We continued to perfect our recipes and our sourdough bread flavors. We gifted friend Chef LT Lawarence of Chilte some loaves to get feedback to further perfect our loaves as we began thinking this could probably grow into a bigger business. We also had friends in Norther Arizona who own a coffee shop Sanders Coffee + Co ask us to sell our loaves in their shop. We began thinking we have traction, the clientele, the support, and we have a better product after trial and failure and help from our friend LT. We began our journey of making Andres Candough a reality.

What should our readers know about your business?
Andres Candough DoughVine Bread is a Hispanic, Gay, and Latino owned business located in Laveen Arizona. We are a first-generation Colombian immigrant sourdough business focusing on community growth and pouring our culture into the loaves we make. We are proud that we could include our Colombian culture and heritage and create sourdough loaves that speak to just that. We are proud to be closer to our community, and deliver the love we have, and break bread with our community each and every single day. We are here by taking a lead of faith as we had a support system and true back bone to help start our business foundation. It has not been easy, understanding the food and bread industry is difficult, navigating as a team of one, order automation, marketing, social media presence, and building a brand is hard. We focused on our product first and then began thinking on how we can make it easier for our customers to order but also us to keep up with our ordering. Looking at how do we build a brand that stands on substance and means something to someone, that is how we have tackled our marketing and looking on building our brand. We started using Hotplate to automate our ordering and began reaching out to others on Instagram and going into coffee shops and stores to see if they would work with us. Our brand stands for community us sharing with our community our culture, love sharing our bread and love that makes people feel like they have quality product, loaf breaking bread with our community and bringing that love together.
