We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Giacomucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what principle do you value most?
The value that matters most to me is authenticity. My business is a reflection of who I am and how I perceive the world. As a photographer who values authenticity, I often focus on documenting life as it unfolds, embracing imperfections, spontaneity, and raw emotions. I seek to capture the essence of a person, place, or event in its most authentic form. When people look back on the photos they can connect with the image on a deeper level. Authenticity fosters deeper connections and relationships, not only in my business but in all aspects of my life, which is why authenticity is the foundation for Anna Gia Images.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I was just starting to think about creating a business, I really sat down and thought about the ‘why’ behind it all. I have always expressed my creativity through photographing the world around me but this business allows me to explore even more ways to do this. It has challenged me to go above and beyond the standard wedding/couple photos. I push myself to create art that evokes emotion- something you can look back on and remember exactly how you felt in that moment. This is why I started Anna Gia Images. I want to document those special moments in my couple’s lives so they can live through those photos forever. I focus more on documentary style photography which means that I photograph moments not necessarily posed images. Your wedding day isn’t just a photoshoot, it’s the celebration of your love and commitment to your partner. I am here to capture this day through all the laughs, tears, and smiles encapsulating all those memories for you to look back on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Phoenix is such a fun city and I absolutely love having friends/family come and visit! If someone was coming for a week long trip, I would say start your week up north visiting the Grand Canyon and Sedona. They are iconic spots for a reason. There is plenty of hiking to do in both of those destinations and also some really great art galleries to check out.

Once you make your way back to Phoenix, you have to check out the restaurant scene. There are some amazing places to eat at. Some of my favorites are Cibo (Downtown Phoenix), AZ88 (Scottsdale), Little O’s/O.H.S.O Brewery (Arcadia/Downtown Phoenix), and Taco Chelo (Downtown Phoenix). The best part is most of these are close to some fun bars to check out the nightlife. Roosevelt Ave in Phoenix has such a fun atmosphere, especially on First Fridays. There are street vendors selling various forms of art, jewelry, and food. One of my favorite bars to take visitors to is Low Key in Tempe. It’s a dueling piano bar with a great crowd and awesome musicians that really interact with the crowd.

In the morning, I would absolutely take them to Luana’s Coffee and Beer for some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Luana’s has good drinks, food, and great people. Plus the location itself is pretty and has great vibes. After that I would take them shopping at some of the Vintage Stores, like Luxie Vintage, that always have really good pieces.

If after all that, they are looking for some more adventure, my go to day trip from Phoenix is the Superstition Mountains. As a native East Coast girl, I was speechless at how within a 45 minute drive you could be out of the city and deep in nature. My fellow East Coasters that visit are always just as mind-blown as I was so I love to take them on a tour through the Superstitions to check out the views.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout-out to Maria from Vow To Wander Photography. She was a huge part in helping me to get my business up and running and has been a really great mentor. I admire her talent for photography and am always inspired by her work.
