Meet Ayzli Butcher | Creator and Teen CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayzli Butcher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayzli, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always struggled with finding products on the store shelves that worked with my sensitive skin. The products are full of ingredients that I couldn’t pronounce, let alone know what they were. Even the products that stated they were for sensitive skin… sheesh… they still made me itch and feel desert dry.
I also felt like the availability of clean, teen products really didn’t exist. There are items on the shelf that are specific to babies and little kids – ya know, like rainbows and unicorns and mermaids and princesses. There was nothing that was jumping off the shelf at my attention for what I, as a teen, like in scent, with the kind ingredients I wanted to use on my body.
So…. I decided that I wanted to make my own. I decided that if I had this problem, there had to be lots of other girls my age that felt the same way.
My mom took me to a Pinners Conference in Scottsdale in 2021. We attended a class on how to start your own skin care business. I was hooked! I was fascinated with the opportunity and so I took a leap of faith and went and spoke with the presenter of the class, Heather Marianna. She was very successful with her own skincare line and was just entering the world of coaching others on how to build theirs. She took a huge leap of faith and decided to work with me and my mom in developing my own skin care brand.
Sudzli was born in January 2022. We currently have an online store, are available for wholesale to retailers around the world and participate in local vendor fairs and artisan shows around the Valley.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want to be an example to teens everywhere. I am very motivated to make a difference in this world and I want girls my age to feel beautiful – no matter their size, skin condition, and all the other things that we have to deal with at this age. I started this business at the age of 12 with my mom’s help. She has encouraged me to be brave and take chances and just “see what’s possible out there”. I’m actually doing it and it feels great!
I want Sudzli to be a brand that teens turn to for quality skin care products. I want to be known as a brand that is body positive and encourages teen girls to feel and look their best every day – whether they are dressed pretty as can be or just chillin’ in their sweatpants. Even the names of many of my products, like You’re One In A Melon and Believe in Yourself, are created to bring even the smallest smile and positive light to the girl that picks it up!
Sudzli is also an option for teens to fundraise for specific sporting clubs, team events, concerts and more. We have a program set up that allows teens to promote our products to their friends and audience and then, with approval of the club, we will donate 25% of the sale back to the specific school, organization. I’ve had to fundraise for the my band class and sporting events and I know that there have been crazy weird hoops to jump through in order to get money. I wanted to offer a fun choice for fundraising with products that girls will actually use!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to get together with my friends and take them to the San Tan Mall area. It’s loaded with great restaurants and shopping. Some of my favorites are Chipotle, BubbleBee Boba Tea, Wetzel pretzels, cruising past the too cute puppies at the adoption center, and shopping at Forever 21!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out to my coach and mentor Heather Marianna. Heather has helped me in every way to make my dreams come true. She brings lots of ideas to the table and it’s all up to you to say Yes or No and her feelings wont be hurt about what she says.
I would also like to shoutout my Mom. My mom has always knew how bad it was to find something that doesn’t break me out or make me itch. She help in everyway and its gotten me far with all her help.
