We had the good fortune of connecting with Bäsmini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bäsmini, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I mainly went out to start making music because I wanted a place to escape. Music had always been a tool to help me discover new emotions and get through tough problems. Artists like Teyana Taylor and her song Issues/Hold On got me through relationship issues and depreciating self-love/value, and reminded me of how success comes through experience and believing in yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create music that speaks from an emotional aspect. I’ve always been one to write down my issues, because I am a firm believer in “congested thoughts”. Music became a way I could express myself in ways I can’t express in my physical body, and eventually pushed me to be a vessel for other creatives around me.

Writing down how I felt and turning it into a full song gives me that sense of relief and comfort.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna dedicate this article to up and coming artists all over the world. Keep pushing through, because every stream counts. Never let the effort you give to your career diminish!
