Meet Blake Adam | Podcast host & social media personality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blake Adam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blake, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I created my podcast and brand, Blonde Hair Black Heart, I knew I wanted to not only create an outlet for my original content but also a community of like-minded pop culture fanatics! The Black Heart Club – as my podcast listeners lovingly call themselves – has become more than a fan base or a listenership… they have really become a part of the brand that I have created. With the input and suggestions of my listeners, my podcast has grown immensely over the past year. Myself and my brand have been featured in major publications like Buzzfeed & Page Six and I have even been able to create an entire merch store that allows the Black Heart Club to wear their black hearts on their sleeves… or their heads if they buy a hat! Name and Description: Blake Adam, Podcast host & social media personality
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a podcast host and social media personality that fuses snark and soul. My brand is created around that notion – Blonde Hair Black Heart celebrates those who know that blondes have more fun and that having a black heart is better than having no heart at all! I love pop culture – specifically reality tv, music, movies, and of course celebrity gossip – so being able to combine this passion with my skillset in communications and journalism was a no-brainer for me. Obviously, the market is a saturated one, so standing out above the rest has been a challenge, but having my own unique voice and sense of humor has certainly helped. It has allowed me to connect with my listeners and followers beyond the gossip and has opened the door for them to get to know me on a personal level. It is extremely important for me to be a part of the conversation and not just a messenger of the news.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Tucson, my home town. There is so much culture here… I’m talking art, food, music, and more. Obviously a trip to the 4th Ave street fair to browse masterpieces from local artisans, followed by restaurant hopping on the “Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food,” and finally a night out at Club Congress for a live local band & dinner and then dancing all night long. There’s so many amazing spots for hiking and exploring if you’re an outdoorsy type, and if it’s a game day then you know heading down to the University will be tons of fun! For family friendly fun, the Sonoran Desert Museum is a must… followed by an ice cream sundae and a sing-along at the Gaslight Theater! I’m telling you… Tucson is not your average tumbleweed town!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out Brianna Gomez, local photographer and small business owner. Brianna is a creative genius and needs Arizona (and the world!) to see her work and know her name! instagram.com/brimarie
