We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had enjoyed doing sports videography and photography for about two years before I decided I wanted to start doing my own thing and make a career out of it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
While in college I took classes in sports videography, photography and social media, which all prepared me to do what I’m doing with BJ Media today. Many of my fellow camera folks in Arizona think that school is not important for entrepreneurs but fail to realize that they are missing important skills that set me apart and have led to the rapid growth of BJ Media in just 10 months.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s a lot of great places to eat and drink at in Phoenix, but my main go-to’s would probably be Culinary Dropout, Postino, and for my brunch folks Hash Kitchen. For activities, it would depend on which friend is visiting, but I would definitely show them around Old Town Scottsdale, some of the nice golf courses, and any events that are going on during their time here.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My brother. He is the one that gave me the idea of starting BJ Media, LLC and helped me with strategies to get the business kick started.
