We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Nemec and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Hospitality and treating others exactly how I would want to be treated. This is the biggest day of my couples lives, and I am one of the few vendors that is with them 99% of their wedding day, so I need to be able to serve them, calm their nerves, and love of them all throughout the day. Although my “job” is to photograph their wedding day, it is so much more than that. It is creating a connection and trust that will carry not only from the beginning of their wedding planning process, to their wedding day, and even far after that. I go above and beyond for all of my couples to ensure that I’m not just their photographer; I’m their planner, their friend, their confidant, and so much more.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a wedding and portrait photographer based out of Glendale, Arizona, but I travel all over the state as well as all over the country to capture timeless, joyful, intimate portraits for you and your family to treasure for generations to come. To create an heirloom for loved ones to look back on. Something I am most proud of and that sets me apart from others in my career field and in the wedding industry is my attention to detail, and the way I give my clients a full experience. From the begging, to the middle, to the end of the wedding planning process, I am there with you. I am helping you plan your wedding and creating your vision to help bring it to life through my photographs. This journey was not easy. There have been a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and more tears to get here. Through continued education, practice, and constant vendor connections, I have built a business that I could have only dreamt of. From a girl taking portraits of her dogs and engagement ring inside of a flower, to serving my couples on their wedding days in states away from Arizona, I have grown beyond measure and I am so proud of the work and effort I have done to get here. I want the world to know that it’s not “just pictures,” its art, its your family heirloom for your kids and grandkids to look back on for generations to come. To see and feel the love that you felt on that day. To have memories to look back on once we’re gone. Because when people have passed, what is the one thing we have to remember them by and the one thing we always look at to remind us of them? Pictures.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely LOVE the Downtown Phoenix area. There are so many beautiful murals to showcase other artists artwork, the vibe is amazing with something always happening whether it’s a festival, First Friday, a car show. There are so many unique and talented artists. Not to mention the amazing restaurants. Sedona would also be another top choice of mine. The hikes and views are something straight out of a picture book that you can’t even remotely be able to take in until you’ve experienced it yourself.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Literally everyone, and anyone who has been there along this beautiful journey from the very beginning; my husband, my clients, friends, family, and amazing vendors I have worked with and admire. Without their love, support, and pushing I don’t think I would be at the level I am at today with my career and art.
