We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My Business is called Young Wealth, Inc. My last name is Young, and Wealth is not only an embodiment practice for me but the space I play in when working with Female Financial Professionals.

Young Wealth is being able to show women in their 30s and 40s they deserve a seat at the table discussing wealth & creating wealth.

Wealth is created when we work together, because I help Female Financial Professionals close more sales using my unique method called The Permission Process.

Clients have doubled their income in one year, grown from $20K months to $150K days, $30K months to $85k months and really learned a new way of selling; that new way of selling is bringing emotion into the sales process and giving oneself permission to sell your own way.

What should our readers know about your business?
My Bio: I spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry working with CEOs, top executives and closed multi-million dollar sales deals.

Some of my corporate accomplishments include building a book of business of 300+ clients and growing a territory from $800K to $6M in 2.5 years. I also ran a $15M territory in oil & gas with the world’s leading chemical distributors.

I began my own business in 2017 and today I am The #1 High Performance Sales Mentor for Financial Leaders Who Want to Close More Sales. I teach my clients to trust themselves & let go of the Old Man Model in sales using my signature method called The Permission Process™️.

I am an International Speaker, published author and have certifications as an Executive NLP Practitioner, Emotional Intelligence Life Coach and a Reiki Master. I also have my MBA in Healthcare Business & undergrad in Pharmaceutical Marketing & Sales. Today I live in Austin, TX with my husband, daughter and two beloved puppies.

What sets me apart from others:

I bring emotions and psychology into the sales process. I don’t teach scripts or an outdated, ineffective sales strategy. I teach my clients to connect emotionally with their buyers and create constant value so their buyers remain loyal and refer them to other potential clients.

What I am most proud of/excited about:

I am most proud of working with women who value and respect their work just as much as I do. I am also proud of my clients who take this journey seriously and take action. When they do their entire life changes.

I am excited about becoming and embodying being the #1 Sales Mentor for Female Financial Professionals!

How did you get where you are today in business & was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

I got where I am today in a very unconventional way. I started my entrepreneurial journey at 30 after being let go by a company who was essentially going under. I had another W2 job lined up that same week of being fired, but something inside me said do not take that job. So I decided to start my own company. It began as a personal training company, and I did that for 2 years coaching and mentoring men and women in early recovery. I also contracted with mental health facilities and trained the patients in meditation, yoga, diet and body weight exercises. During that time, I met my husband and things moved quickly. We married, bought a house and found out we were pregnant all within the same week of one another. I decided to pivot towards the end of my pregnancy into business coaching. I began mentoring other business coaches and entrepreneurs teaching them how to sell their online courses. I ran group programs and also coached women 1:1.
As things started to take off, we had our daughter in June 2020 during the pandemic, and my world turned upside down. Not only did the world shut down, but I began suffering from postpartum depression. I struggled to show up in my business, and I felt extremely isolated and afraid. My husband wasn’t working from home yet, and my family lives in a different state. As other people in my industry were having their best financial years, I had one of my worst. Comparison, shame and doubt crept in on top of the depression. I wanted to quit and stop working all together, and honestly that’s exactly what I did. I knew I needed time for myself, otherwise I don’t think I would have made it. We hired a babysitter to help me 2 days a week, and it made all the difference; she changed my life and my family’s life too. My daughter began thriving as I began to slowly get back into my work. Also during that time, my husband quit his job to begin his own therapy practice at home. I still struggled with the depression, but I hired a mentor from December of 2020 until December 2021 to help me process my feelings and show me how to lead from my heart rather than the thoughts in my mind. Simultaneously, clients began renewing contracts and wanted to keep working together. And despite 2021 being a very difficult year emotionally, I became resilient both in business and my personal relationships. I started focusing more on self love, trusting myself, and I began to feel that my work really changed lives and made a difference. Money began showing up for me when I was in this space of pure confidence. That’s also when women in the financial industry started showing up and wanted to be mentored by me. Beginning July 2021, I began marketing and selling to directly to women in the financial and insurance industry, and today that is who I serve and truly enjoy mentoring!

Lessons learned:

It’s more than necessary to prioritize yourself and have time alone as a parent
When you trust yourself so deeply, your heart opens to receiving everything that you want
When you know you’re safe, you accept that making more money is the new normal for you
When you choose yourself first, you are magnetic to your desires.
When you know you’re worthy, you receive what you want.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday: We must have tacos! It’s time to hit up Tyson’s Tacos on Airport Blvd followed by Ice Cream at Sweet Ritual!!!

Tuesday: We’ll work out and hit the weights at Dane’s Body Shop followed by breakfast at Julio’s in Hyde Park

Wednesday: We’re headed to Gloria’s on West 6th Street for Latin cuisine and possibly do the cha-cha together

Thursday: The Elephant Room is the place to be to catch some jazz music and swanky drinks at the bar

Friday: We’ll catch a concert at Stubb’s off River Street and then have pizza at Home Slice on South Congress

Saturday: We would head down to the University of Texas stadium to watch a football game

Sunday: I am taking you to catch the Eagles play at 5280 Burger Bar so you can drink and eat while I cheer the Birds on!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my husband Tim. He silently challenges me to be a better woman of God, business woman, mother and all around good human being. He keeps me calm under pressure, refuses to let me quit when things are really challenging, and stands in my corner like Rocky’s trainer cheering me on. He is my best friend, my favorite person to do life with, and the person I look forward to growing grey and crotchety with!
