We had the good fortune of connecting with Britton Frost and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britton, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In the words of comedian Bill Burr: There’s no risk in chasing a dream, but there’s a tremendous amount of risk in playing it safe. If your intuition, uninhibited by emotions and external influences, says to do it, then you do it, and things will always turn out better than if you didn’t
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Despite my other professional and intellectual pursuits, I’m really just a lame joke cracking rock drummer at heart. As much of a loner as I am, I understand that creating and performing music is largely a collaborative effort, so it has been extremely difficult managing things with my long-standing band from afar as well as vetting for new, more local projects. Typically, the more talented the musician, the more difficult they are to work with for one reason or another.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
All of my friends and family members are quite different in their preferences, so I would cater the experience to their likes and personality.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents Bill and Eileen, my mentors Roger Scruton and Tom Walter, and other enlightened masters of the past such as Huang Po and David Hawkins
