We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryce & Paul Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryce & Paul, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind SipTales’ success is God. We have been truly blessed to be in the position we are in now. From our playing days in the NFL, to winning awards at competitions, nothing has been achieved simply off the backs of our hardwork and effort.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If you asked us 10 years ago if we would be in the alcohol business, both of us would have laughed. We come from a very sports heavy family, our mother being a very talented gymnast and track athlete, while our father was a professional football player. With such high achieving parents, we had an example of what determination looks like. With this mindset, we were able to achieve our dreams of being in the NFL. Once we finished playing, we wanted to impact the world and looked for an outlet to do so. We turned our attention to the drinks industry and quickly noticed that the we were not represented on the shelves. This includes what we like to drink and people that look like us. Nothing about this journey is easy, but with our faith in God and a family that supports us, nothing is too difficult to achieve.

The drinks industry is very saturated with big companies and legacy brands flooding the market. We learned very quickly that competing with such established brands would be a hard feat. So instead of attempting to compete with them, we focused on being an authentic brand that speaks to everybody no matter your background or ethnicity. So our advice would be to be yourself no matter what, because when you are you add to the beautiful pie we call life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Arizona is bursting with so many hidden gems. For Monday I would tell my friend to venture down to PHX and check out LATHA for a culinary experience like no other. Tuesday, we would go to Havana night at Dave and Busters at Tempe Marketplace. Wednesday would be for the arts at the Phoenix Art Museum for pay what you wish Wednesdays. Thursday could go a few different ways, however, an early morning or late afternoon hike would just be delightful. Depending on the day of the month, first Friday would be an amazing look at all the local flavors and overall feel for downtown. With so many great farmers markets here in town, there is no real wrong answer when it comes to choosing which market you want to attend.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We can only think of two individuals that deserve such high praise, and that is our parents; Paul&Lynette Perkins. Our parents have been with us from the beginning and have taught us so much on what running a business looks like. Our mother and father are entrepreneurs in their own right and have given us advice and tactics on how to succeed in a playing field that is slightly unfamiliar..
