We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Conaway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was the desire to make a difference. A difference in a world so greatly distorted by what society thinks is right. Using our own backgrounds and molding them together, we wanted to use the challenges we have faced to create emphasis the importance of the battles we fight with ourselves every day. The cliché saying “You are your own worst enemy” is valid, but how do we stop saying that, and put action into reverting that saying to conquer that enemy? Through our “You vs You” model that Tri-Horn Co. promotes, we can provide insight on how to beat the battle not only through our own experiences but through the evidence profoundly used in the Bible.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up, all the attention was centered around sports. Playing soccer throughout my childhood years taught me many things such as timeliness, leadership, work ethic, and a team-oriented environment. I received an offer to play Soccer at Grand Canyon University and played there for 3 years. During that time I faced many challenges that I did not expect going in. I strongly believed that this would be a place where I would excel in soccer and propel myself into playing professionally. As we all know, God always has better plans for us and I figured that out soon after my freshman year of college. I did not understand why God was putting me through some things that I know I did not deserve, but as I sit here today, I realized he was putting me through all of these things to mold me into something beyond soccer. I felt he was calling me to be a beacon of light beyond soccer as my platform to do so. The issues with playing at Grand Canyon University were not physically a problem, but at that level, the mental side was more taxing than ever. Each day was a battle that I had never seen before. There were days when I felt amazing and days where I found myself asking God, “Why is this happening to me?”. Through prayer and questions asking God to use me in some way the idea of starting a business came up. The motto behind it would be “YOUVSYOU” and we would use it as a platform to help others fighting some of the same battles that I went through. The passion and calling that I felt to start this and get it off the ground was like no other because every day I go about my day and see so many people lost in not knowing how to properly go about an issue they face. So my job became, how do I help those people? It became very clear that through the trials God placed me through in college with soccer, I needed to build a platform that others can look at to seek help and guidance in how they can beat what they may be going through. We live in a world filled with so much pain and hurt, and oftentimes we overlook the importance of the battles we have within ourselves each day. Faced with the pressure to conform to the image of what the world wants us to look like in order to be accepted can be overwhelming. Social media offers us many ways to create a false persona about our lives in order to appeal to the narrative of what the world says is acceptable and desired. When we compare our lives to others through this lens we expose the reality that we are not being true to ourselves and what we believe. Through hardship and pain, the results may seem out of reach, but by believing in yourself and trusting in God, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Never let anyone say otherwise. This is your journey unlike anyone else’s, and it may be the hardest thing you have ever dealt with, but the reward is finding the freedom to be yourself and not let anyone dictate your next move. This is what Tri-Horn Co. believes in and will stand by. This is what makes us different and unique, and we will go beyond the limits to help those in need to capture a moment with fulfillment of beating their own battle from within.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There was not really a specific person or group that encouraged us to do this. It was three brothers with the drive to make something that needs to be talked about known to others. In our world and in this generation, we see the problems that people continuously run into by not being able to handle their own mental battles each day. By utilizing the relationships around us, we shared our vision and the direction we wanted to go. Each person that heard our story understood the importance of the direction we were pushing for and wanted to support the topic we are pushing to discuss and address. Our shoutout goes to all of those who have been in our lives to this moment, good or bad, they all molded us into who we are today and the gratitude of being here in this moment goes beyond anything else we could have imagined.
