We had the good fortune of connecting with Camilla Perkins Brynlee Howell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camilla Perkins, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
The awesome thing about having a business partner is talking the risks out and taking them together. We are full time college students and we knew that taking on our own business was going to be a risk from the beginning, but in the long run it would be worth it. We have learned so much that we could not have learned any other way than trial and error. When we are deciding whether or not to make a certain business decision, we usually just go for it if there are no obvious cons. Our mindset has been to learn all we can and sometimes we do have to learn by taking some losses. This experience has taught us to be open minded of failure and see what we can learn from each decision we make. Whether the outcome is positive or negative, there is a lot to learn. We have the ability to switch up our approaches and try out new marketing tactics, and it has been the most rewarding experience to learn how to reach and connect with our audiences.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Che Figo, we specialize in personalized Italian charm bracelets that truly reflect our customers’ unique stories. What sets us apart is our focus on creating a personalized experience, ensuring every piece reflects YOU. One of our proudest moments was when the lead singer of LANY wore our bracelet at a concert and even posted a story about it on Instagram. Our journey hasn’t been easy, but our passion and dedication have helped us overcome challenges and learn valuable lessons about resilience, creativity, and authenticity. We want the world to know that Che Figo is about more than just jewelry—it’s about telling your story.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Camilla is from Arizona and if Brynlee were to come visit from Idaho, here are the must- do’s!

– We would spend a day at Saguaro Lake, either boating or paddle boarding from butcher jones beach.
– We would walk around downtown Gilbert for brunch or a prickly pear ice cream at Topo.
– We would watch the sunset from Papago Park and then drive down the tempe town bridge as the lights turn on.
– We would hangout with friends and family and eat bruschetta at Postino, or catch Brunch at Snooze A.M. eatery, or a dinner at Culinary Dropout.
– Most of our time would be spent by the pool since the temperatures are rising but there would have to be one fun outing a day!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to dedicate our shoutout to our professor Scott Pope. He was our mentor throughout our business class where we started Che Figo. Scott was our biggest supporter but our biggest critic at the same time. We wouldn’t be where we are today without him. We will always be grateful for the encouragement and feedback he gave us!
