Meet Cassidy Barsdorf | CPG Professional & Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Barsdorf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cassidy, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk as opportunity. The presence of risk generally means you’re trying something new without a definitive roadmap to success. In business and in life, it’s important to push the envelope, try new things, and fail fast (and learn fast!). Only by getting creative and taking on risk do you create opportunity to break free from the status quo.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Indy Clover is a thrift and consignment concept in the Gilbert, AZ area. Independent sellers, like you!, can sell gently-used items that are no longer serving you to our Shoppers who are looking for name brands at thrift store prices. Sellers get to price their own inventory, set up their booth on a Saturday morning, then leave their items in the store for the week while our staff takes care of the rest.
What sets Indy Clover apart from other resale concepts in the area is the freedom we give our Sellers to manage their own inventory. Additionally, our fun and energetic brand and focus on social content creation have allowed us to set ourselves apart in the market.
We’ve been in business for 2 years now and learned so much in year 1 we could write a novel! Our passion for the brand and belief in the business model kept us going through early challenges and we’re so glad we stuck with it. It’s been so rewarding to build our team, get to know regulars in the store, and see the way we’re able to positively impact lives in the community by providing a way for Sellers to earn an income by selling with us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the city, I’d pick them up from the airport then head to the Postino in Tempe for lunch and a drink. From there, we’d head to the Pima Canyon trail for a walk through the beautiful desert. Day 2 we’d head to the LifeTime Fitness in Scottsdale for a workout and sauna session then we’d head to Indy Clover (of course) for some second-hand retail therapy. That night, we’d head to Maple & Ash for an unforgettable dinner. This would be an ideal weekend!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out the Incredible team who runs the day-to-day at Indy Clover Gilbert. Vanessa, Sydney, and Ellie work so hard to create a fun environment for our shoppers and support system for our Sellers. Their passion for sustainable shopping and creating opportunity in our communities is inspiring to me as business owner and fuel me to keep building this concept in Arizona.
