We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassy Saba Shovak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’m from an entrepreneurial family, and knew as a teenager that I wanted to work for myself. Jewelry was the perfect business for me. After college I moved to NYC and started working in the diamond district which made obtaining all kind of goods at wholesale prices a reality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m actually in the diamond district in NYC and I am extremely hands on. I have access to diamonds, colored stones, everything you can imagine. My 15 years of experience along with these tools help me create new and exciting pieces. While on my journey, it’s my opinion that it’s never easy to be the best at what you do. I focused on a balance of understanding jewelry and understanding people. I have many satisfied and loyal clients which has been my goal from the begining.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite hometown restaurant, since I’m from Chandler is Pitta Souvli. The food is always so fresh, and the owners Lisa and Paul are great! Another place I enjoy entertaining my clients is Steak 44. We know a lot of the staff and the Chef always spoils us! We enjoy everyone there, and the food and atmosphere is amazing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom is a huge support and help. I have clients all over the country, and my mom is able to cater to my AZ clients. She facilitates numerous roles and provides great assistance with my company.
