We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad & Evelyn Wheeler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad & Evelyn, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our business, Web Designs Your Way, helps the community and the world by giving the small to medium-sized businesses an affordable way to own an amazing website. Having a functional, beautiful website that attracts customers helps not only the business owner, but the community too. The website can be utilized to bring the small mom and pop owners business, which means money being put back in the community, paying for activities for the owners children, and money being spent on other local small businesses. Lots of people love supporting local, so by having that website, it helps get the word out to the community!

What should our readers know about your business?
Web Designs Your Way is a husband and wife web design team. We have been in business for over 10 years now. We think our customer service and amazing, functional websites are what sets us apart from others. Plus the fact that we offer interest-free payment plans doesn’t hurt either. We are lucky enough to be able to offer that because of the success we have had. The small businesses are what got us started and we have vowed to never leave them behind. The payment plans don’t mean we’re expensive, it just means we care and feel EVERY business owner deserves to have a useful website. Some of the DIY platforms do not allow you to add items to your website without paying for them. Some of these items are a must-have for your website to be successful. But if you don’t build websites every day, you wouldn’t even know you needed them! The 10 years have not been the easiest, but well worth it. I think every business owner goes through ups and downs. The downs should make you learn what’s not working, so you learn to adapt a new routine or structure. When we first started, we wanted to take on anyone and everyone as our client. You learn along the way that not everyone IS your client. It took us several years to learn that. Either personalities or the person just not being ready for your service, are two big factors. We got to where we are today with a lot of trial and error, meeting goals, setting new goals, being open to change, and a lot of hard work! We have spent and still spend numerous hours on our business. If we are not building websites, we are on Social Media platforms posting in groups, making connections and driving around town in our company vehicles. We also learned that some of our “competitors” are actually power partners, not a threat. We work with others in our industry who can do things we may not do, or like to do, so we can be a one stop show for our customers. We all work together to make our businesses strong and not work against one another. We would love to be viewed as an amazing website company who really cares. We are not a big box web design company that lries to upsell you on everything, and will guide you even when we are finished building your website if you are not using up to maintain the website. We even make you a video on how to make changes on your website if you decide to do it on your own. We built our business on helping the small business!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly this one is a hard one for us! Our family for the most part all lives here so we don’t really have visitors come see us! We do enjoy supporting our customers and other small businesses though. We would take them to Grubstak and Moreno’s Mexican Grill to eat for sure! One day we are hoping to make it to one of the Escape rooms as well!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wish we could give a HUGE shoutout to all of our customers, because they are what have given us the opportunity to be in business for over 10 years. We have the best customers EVER!! We would like to give special recognition to Karen Joseph, owner of SEVEN Networking. Karen has been a part of our success not only by running an amazing networking group, but for her referrals. She supports all of her members so much and the introductions she has given us, that have turned into customers as well as friends, we are so thankful for!
