We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsi Hand and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Fun fact: I actually don’t believe in balance! I worked with an amazing coach a couple years ago that really challenged me when it came to me chasing after a “balanced life”. You see, in the past, I was consumed by trying to achieve balance in all areas of my life. What I came to realize, is that balance isn’t sustainable – not for me at least. As far back as I could remember, there was never a time where EVERYTHING was in complete balance.
So what I started to focus on instead, was finding flow. Flow at home, work, with relationships, working out, eating, etc. That’s when my life began to really change for the better. I noticed I was a lot more present, and not nearly as hard on myself.
Look, there will be certain seasons of life where work is going to require more attention and efforts, just like there will be other seasons where home life will require more. There will be seasons of life where focus is mainly on self, and seasons where the focus is mainly on others. So on and so forth with everything else in life. What’s amazing and beautiful about not only finding, but also accepting flow, is that it helps eliminate judgment, unrealistic standards and ideals that society has tried to push on us.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
As far as my coaching, I try and shatter “traditional” coaching norms, and instead focus on helping people shift their thought patterns to unlock their full potential. How do I do that? Simply by showing up and being present with them. Actually listening to what they have to say and relaying it back to them. Sharing my own story. People just want to feel heard and to be understood. They want someone to root for, believe, and advocate for them…and that’s where I come in 🙂
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Omg, love this question! I like to think I’m the Queen of Arcadia/Scottsdale recommendations…whether or not that’s actually true…who knows 😉

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my father, Daniel, aka the GOAT. His life hasn’t always been the easiest, but his ability to keep on keeping on, all with a smile on his face, is nothing short of amazing. He is always encouraging me to be better, while still accepting myself for exactly who I am in this moment.
