Meet Chris Reed | Online Custom Fitness Plans

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started DB3 Fitness as a way to help the people who feel stuck in their routine and need guidance to get their fitness journey back on track. I’ve been in the fitness world for 12 years now and have noticed that people tend to start hot with a new fitness plan and fizzle out, or are doing things that are not built for their body type and they end up getting hurt. Both of these outcomes end up pushing people away from a fit lifestyle so DB3 was created to help show people how to fit the correct fitness path into their life, instead of trying to force somebody else’s way on them. I combine my backgrounds in athletic training and performance to blend rehab principles into strength training to provide a unique fitness plan that attacks weaknesses and bolsters strengths. All of this is provided via app with video instruction by me, so our clients have a personal trainer in their pocket at all times providing a flexible environment to succeed in.

What sets DB3 apart from other online fitness plans is that we understand that not everyone fits into a specific mold. Sure, people share traits that may be similar to another person, but at the end of the day, each and every person we get the privilege to train is an individual who needs specific attention to detail to be successful. We aim to educate and empower. My goal is not to have a client for life, it is instead to work with clients on teaching them how they can plan and process their own training for a life that is rich in health and wellness. We also understand the complexities of life and scheduling. Our ability to match a plan to your calendar day by day and week by week enhances the experience for each and every one of our clients making it easy to enjoy training instead of seeing it as a burden.
Getting to this took a lot of trial and error but what I always come back to is the client experience. My goal is to make getting to their goal happen as fast as it can while also being as simple as it can. I’ve learned along the way that flexibility and adaptability is the only way forward in this business and that came with losing people as clients but learning how to be better because of it.
I would love for the world to know that DB3 is aimed to deliver longevity to the person who wakes up with aches and pains, can’t keep up with their kids, or feels they will never reach the health and wellness goals they once set for themselves. I have seen first hand how a perfectly curated plan and some accountability can transform the way people interact with fitness and health. People are a lot closer than they think to finding a way that works for them, but they need the right guide to help them find the way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are all molded by our tribe and I would not have the ability to help others today without everyone who has taught me and continues to teach me along the way. On the fitness side, I learned a ton as the head of program design at Tatum Human Performance. I continue to develop with help from friends I’ve met through school and training who always love to talk shop when a tricky case comes up. Ultimately, every client I get to interact with deserves a shoutout because they trust me to help them with their journey and by seeing more of what people go through, I become a better tactician to help the next person.
