Meet Christen Nguyen Roxanna Orsini | home bakers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christen Nguyen Roxanna Orsini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christen Nguyen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We decided to go into business so more people would be able to enjoy our baked goods. We would constantly have friends and family members interested in our macarons. Baking macarons has been a fun pastime for us and now we are able to share something we enjoy doing with others. Having personalized orders has allowed us to learn so much more about the art behind macarons and it continues to push our limits more than we would have done just casually baking.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are proud of ourselves for taking the leap and putting our macarons out there in the world. We have learned how vulnerable one must be to continue to grow within the market. It has been so wonderful to have the small business community behind us and help guide the way.
We have gotten to where we are today by challenging ourselves with new flavors and styles. We provide new content through our social media platforms and attempt to keep our audience engaged and feel a part of our growth. It is more than just our kitchen aid mixers and ovens that are needed to grow our business. The need to provide appropriate content, pictures, and video to help us stay relevant has been an unexpected challenge. Social media is both a tool and a necessity to thrive in this market.
Macarons have a special place in our hearts. We value the perseverance, expertise and patience required to just produce one cookie. There is an art behind this delicate cookie, and it has been a pleasure to share it with the community. Being even just a small part of someone’s special occasion or event has truly been the highlight of starting this business.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Tucson is known for it’s quirky and foodie vibes. We would spend some time exploring the downtown and university areas. Eating a Sonoran hot dog from a food cart is a rite of passage through Tucson and you can’t forget the Eegee’s! Tucson is also home to beautiful hiking trails with desert landscapes, waterfalls, and pools.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to thank our husbands for putting up with our constant taste testing and late-night baking adventures.
