Meet Christina Lombardo | Certified Holistic Nutritionist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Lombardo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Growth is not linear and looks different for everyone. Some people start a business and are catapulted into success. Others start and things move slowly. I’ve had to learn to have patience with my own process in business, learning, and growth. I really felt called into the work I’m currently doing in regard to Holistic Nutrition and Wellness in the trauma and substance abuse recovery space. I knew a lot already but I also knew I didn’t know what I didn’t know. And I didn’t know A LOT! Having patience and an open mind and heart as one goes on their journey is key.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Sports Nutritionist, and Evox Practioner who helps my clients have a more balanced nervous system and live a healthier more sustainable life while recovering from trauma and/or substance abuse. I focus on nutrition, physical activity, supplements, sleep habits, and stress management. My goal is to look at the entire person instead of focusing on one area. A client may get a recommendation to meditate with a minor shift in diet or to rest more instead of packing their day with more activities. If our nervous system is always a 10 the rest of the body will react. Over time our body may show us signs to change our behavior such as stomach pain, indigestion, IBS symptoms, headaches, migraines, skin irritations, anxiety, brain fog, or insomnia to name a few things. These are usually symptoms of larger issues and my goal is to help my clients figure out what those areas are in their lives that need some help. All this while remembering that a healthy lifestyle is a lifelong journey, not a destination we reach and quit. After years of working in the weight loss space while recovering from personal trauma, I realized there is a gaping hole in the space of trauma and recovery. I personally have PTSD and C-PTSD and suffered for years with an ever-shifting amount of health problems. There was absolutely nothing to help me on the market. I pulled from a multitude of resources in order to heal myself and have a better quality of life. After that experience, I felt called into this space to use what I had learned (and keep learning) to help others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite restaurants in my city are Jewels Bakery and Cafe. The second is Centrico. Third is any little unknown taco shop. I don’t care who owns it, you can’t fail. I really think what happens depends on the person who comes to visit. It could be hiking on one of our many mountains, a drive North to Sedona, or South to secret places I don’t share because they are not filled with tourists. If my visitor wants to hang out on my patio and drink coffee while staring at the mountain in my backyard, we can do that too. It’s their vacation, I let them run the show.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Where to begin!? My husband has been my biggest cheerleader. Whatever I’m into, he supports me 110%. He has patience, is an amazing listener, and gives great feedback and advice when needed. My best friends have also loved me through the emotional ups and downs of business ownership. For real though, I wouldn’t be here without my therapist. LOL She has walked me through a rollercoaster of emotions, ups and downs, and full meltdowns. Having a solid team of beautiful people around me is a wonderful blessing. (I could list probably 20 people who guided me on my journey but I’ll keep it short)
